Has any one read the novel version of the film? I admit I liked the first novel it was a great read and it explained so many things about some scenes in the first film for instance why uhura was on the transporter pad ,although in the film it just felt as if she went there to kiss spock. the novel actually stated that she was actually helping him ( Read more... )

I'm partially through it (about 1/3 maybe) and so far it's much closer to the film than the previous novelization.

From what I've heard, there is not a whole lot of S/U-ness, and people are speculating that the author may have gotten a very early draft. Which leads me to wonder...did they perhaps not know which way they were going to go with the S/U relationship?

Zoe did an interview, in which she talks about how she had to fight JJ and the others for what Spuhura there was....that she explained that their relationship needed to be "dealt with." That has be questioning what they planned to do with it....were they just going to not address their relationship at all? And, if not, was it because their relationship was so committed and established? Or was it because in their minds, it fizzled out, and they just didn't want to show it?

And, IF it's the latter- it makes me wonder about the comics. Did they not want to deal with break-up drama in the film, and the comics would be their way of ending it?

Things that make you go hmmm

I borrowed from a friend and skimmed it as well. Didn't see too many S/U moments ( ... )

Apparently she and Zachary Quinto both like the relationship and hope for it to continue ... let's hope their opinion holds sway. Sometimes Zoe can seem to be all over the map with things she says though.

If you see the clip of Zach and Zoe on the Jonathan Ross show, their chemistry is incredibly obvious.

Yes I did see it!! :) very cute! Zachary could have chemistry with a cinder block IMO. Even as a psycho killer in AHS Asylum is still found him oddly charming lol

I LOVE how the cast gets along so well. Like they are really family. The guys go to hooters together and Zoe and Alice were so cute in that photo where Zoe gave her a big hug. Chris and Zack are great friends even outside of filming, which shows in their onscreen relationship as well.

It's too bad we didn't get any interviews with Anton Yelchin :( he's such a cutie and I know he's busy but I still would have liked to see him even a little bit..
