Thanks for answering! 😁 I somehow either missed or forgot that you answered on here, so I sent you an email with the same question yesterday. Doh. And sorry. You can just disregard the mail. 😉

Some of the prompts have fully fledged plot requests in their descriptions. I thought the point was to collaborate - to inspire and motivate an author to come up with their own story that fits the art, not just to tell them what to write? If an author were to choose one of these prompts, would they be allowed to write something different, as long as it fits the pairing, do-not-wants and their own subjective view of the art in question? No time to find out for this bang, but it would be good to know for next time!

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. You are absolutely right; this event is for artists and authors to join in a collaboration, it is not a commission on either side. This is explained in the artist's rules, but some people choose to express the ideas they had in detail. For what it's worth: they do get a warning about this from the mod, as I know authors can feel restricted if the prompt is too specific and they have other ideas based on the visual:)
In the end it's up to the artist what they want to include in the description, they are aware this potentially limits the amount of authors that are able and/or willing to work with such instructions.
If there is a certain artwork you're interested in, but you have doubts about the artist's intentions, do contact me by mail and I can ask behind the scenes if they are open for other ideas. Until claimday the preview text can be adjusted if clarification about this is needed, but again: it's up to the artist.
Edited to remind you that you need to be signed up as an author to claim tomorrow. As ( ... )

Thanks for the clarification! It sounds like if an artist wants a specific story, then that prompt should go to an author who is willing to write it, as if they intended an open prompt then they would have given one, so I'll leave it be this time around. Good luck everybody! Looking forward to the end results!

Hi gwendolynd, SPN_Reversebang mod here :-) Apologies for the late reply, but that illustrates part of the (long) answer: unfortunately I lack time to keep track of fandom at the moment. (Running a fandom challenges requires a commitment of months) But the main reason for not organizing a ReverseBang anymore is that the participation of the SPN_RB has been in decline dramatically in the past few years and fandom has spread out over lots of different platforms. It has become impossible to lure in enough authors to claim all the art, so there won't be an SPN_RB for 2024.
