[Youkai huh ... well, he's dealt with demons before. It's a subject pretty close to him. Though seeing how different worlds have different things; the demons are probably different.]

Using a fancy word for demons huh? I'm guessing you're not the kind that likes to rip into people with fangs.

Now now, we're not demons.

Calling us that can be considered quite rude, both by youkai and true demons.

Really. Care to give me a small history lesson. What's the difference?

Simply put, demons are from a Makai - a demon's world.

Youkai are native to-for lack of a better term-the human's world, and were generally normal animals, objects, or even humans before their transformation. In many cases, it's a natural process; hardly demonic in any fashion.

I did not give my name as well: Lexaeus. [He doesn't bother with a last name, nor his title.]

I know of magic, but I do not practice it myself. Not in the traditional sense.

Oh, you're a youkai? I had no idea. I suppose it's because most of the youkai in my world have a distinguishing physical characteristic about them that differentiates them from humans.

And many in my world do as well, but are capable of taking a humanoid form.

In fairness, it's something of a survival trait; youkai that don't look monstrous are less likely to be hunted on sight, after all.

That's true; I'm sure those characteristics are what caused the prejudice in my world and ultimately lead to a war between humans and youkai. It's over now and there is peace, but the youkai were driven to the state of Dokuganryuu.

At least they have a nation. In mine, we had to seal off a safe haven from the rest of the world just so we could survive...no, just so magic could survive.
