Hey ... it's a Pikachu! [ Ash beams, because this is the third one he's seen ever since he got here, and seeing more people from his world makes him happy. And Pikachu's going to squeal in reply with a "Pikaaa!" ]

[ Red's Pikachu perks up at the other Pikachu, and Red glances over at the guy who looked like he could be a relative he'd never seen before. His Pikachu responds to Ash's, "Pika!"-ing back at the sight of another one of his kind. ]

... A trainer?

[ Ash gives a nod, and he's quite enthusiastic to meet a trainer. This one seemed very different from all the others he's met in Splendor so far. ]

[ Sure is Pikachu around here... Red blinks at the girl(?) and tilts his head. He's pretty sure he's never met her before in his life, but she seemed to know him well. (Maybe she knew him as Kanto's champion?) Pikachu mimics him, adding a "Pika?". ]

[And she starts trotting up to him when she realizes that...this isn't her Red.]

O-oh...you're not... [cue sadface from her and Chuchu] I-I got mixed up, I'm sorry!

[ Red quietly shakes his head. No, she had it right the first time... Of course, he doesn't realize that she's speaking of another Red entirely. ]

[Kyoko's trekking back down the mountain path after an enjoyable morning spent with her brother. Well, partially enjoyable; it had taken some convincing that it was a bad idea to try to challenge a bear to a boxing match. Honestly, she almost had thought he had been serious.

She takes a corner and spots Red, his tshirt and jeans a stark contrast to the young girl's heavy jacket and snow boots, and calls out to him.]

-Are you alright?

[Kyoko can't understand anyone but her big brother minding being out in this sort of cold without protection, so the logical explanation is this boy is probably new, and maybe injured himself walking to his new house. Why else would he not have a jacket and be sitting in the snow?]

[catchings]

[ Red's in the middle of munching on a cracker when the strange girl shows up, and he stares at her quizzically. Doesn't he look alright? ]

... I'm fine. [ And, after managing to swallow said cracker-- ] Why?

[Oh. Normally Kyoko would be a tad bit suspicious at a quick and flat answer, but something tells her this guy is being honest...which only makes her feel awkward for asking.]

Ah- I just thought- well, it's very cold out, and you don't have a jacket.
