[Dawn is used to being away from her mother & with Ash around, the pang of longing for her friends has lessened to almost nothing. She hums under her breath, shopping bags swinging from her hand as she decides to take the scenic route home. Piplup is perched on her head and it is the pokemon that pulls Dawn out of her thoughts and points out the crying girl on the bench.

Walking over to her quickly, crouching in front of her]

Hey, what's wrong?

[When she hears someone's voice, she lifts her head and finds herself looking at a girl. She quickly dabs at her eyes, but the tears keep on falling anyway. She forces a small smile and shakes her head.]

Hey... it's nothing. T-there was just... something in my eye. [A huge plank. OKAY WORST EXCUSE EVER. But at this point, she's too busy crying her heart out to think of something better. ): ]

It doesn't sound like nothing. Here.

[She searches through her bags and holds out a handkerchief]

I know we don't know each other but if you want to talk about what's upsetting you, you can. Talking about things can make it better, you know?

[She looks at the handkerchief for a moment, before she takes it, a small genuine smile appearing on her face.]

Thanks.

[She wipes the tears on her face as she listens to what the other says. Minori wasn't the type of person who easily spoke about what she truly felt, because she didn't like sharing any of her weaknesses. She preferred to make things better by herself. But this girl seemed... genuine. Maybe talking a little about what caused her to feel so alone probably wouldn't hurt more.]

It's nothing, really... I just miss home.

[Makoto makes time to go through the park at least once a day. She likes the quiet feel it has and it allows her to think and plan through things. It's not unusual to come across others who are in her situation, taken from the home by the city, while walking through so she's not too surprised to see the hyperactive girl who arrived recently.

She doesn't seem so energetic today though.]

Ahh... hey, is something wrong?

[Minori is just minding her business, her head still buried in her knees, not minding the people who were walking past her. However, when she hears a familiar voice talking to her, she decides to look up, tears still falling down her face.]

Oh, it's you... Makoto, right? [She wipes her tears away on her sleeve, and then smiles at the other, albeit forced and weak.]

I'm fine. [No, you're not.] Nothing's wrong. [Except everything. She wraps her arms tighter around her knees, and buries her head in her knees once again. She's a little ashamed of having someone who saw her hyperactive side see her like this.]

No offense, but that's a pretty lame lie.

[She sits down and wishes for a handkerchief to give the girl.]

You miss your home, don't you?

[Makoto remembers her first few days. After the thrill of being in a strange new world wore off, and the realization that she was trapped here sunk in, she too had spent quite a few nights crying herself to sleep. Even now there were times she would stay up, staring at her ceiling, wondering what was happening back home.

What was her mother doing? Her sister and father? Were Chiaki and Kosuke playing catch without her? Would she ever get to see any of them again?]

It's a bit scary being here, isn't it?

Is it? [she laughs bitterly. She takes the handkerchief after a moment, saying a little 'thank you'.]

More like the people from home. [Minori didn't care where she was placed, as long as she had her friends, and her brother with her. Her parents were always away from home working, and she thinks about her younger brother who is probably left alone in the house right now. She wonders how he's doing without her and she hopes that he isn't just eating cup noodles.]

It's... terrifying. I feel like I never know what lies ahead. If I'll be back home tomorrow, or if I'll stay here forever... [She realizes that she may have given too much of what she felt, and she lets out a loud, forced laugh.] It's just, you know... a little unnerving.

[Hmm.]

I'll still try to achieve them, of course. My song is still here, so there's no reason for me to quit. I'll just have to add in about all the growing up he's done.

[Minori is a little confused.]

Song...?

[Better confused than crying.]

The guy I'm writing a song about. He promised me that he'd let me.

Oh. You're writing a song about someone? [That's nice.] Are you a songwriter?

You should always do your best, even if you are on a different planet!

[ she sounds very sure of this ]

[A smile forms on Minori's face as she listens to the voice. She knows that there's some truth to it, and she feels a little encouraged.]

Yeah... you're right.

Are you experiencing the "sick of home" feeling?

[Sick of home...?]

Um, no. I miss home very much, actually.

[Nagisa just so happened to be wandering through the park when she sees Minori. Worried about the girl, she comes a little closer, frowning.]

Um...are you okay?

[ Wow, there were lots of people who wandered into the park. Maybe it was a wrong choice to be crying in this place. She lifts her head from her knees, only her eyes filled with tears showing out.]

I'm fine. Thanks.

[She blinks, tilting her head as she shuffles closer still.]

A-Are you sure?

[She nods, though her face betrays it all.]

Yes. I mean... I will be.
