Oh wow I actually get to write Asch prose, what is this... claim_my_place June 12 2011, 02:20:26 UTC
Asch wasn't sure how they'd finally made it to the front porch of his residence, but they had. As he stood in the shade of a sweeping overhang belonging to the clean white building, Asch allowed himself to sigh.

He clearly hadn't been thinking when he'd decided to hunt down his wayward replica, but since he had gone through the trouble already, there was little he could do about it. He'd just have to take care of his counterpart until he could find someone else - reliable - to shove him off on.

"Luke." He'd finally gotten in the habit of calling his name when he was trying to attract the child's attention. "We're going in."

With a toss of his head, Asch approached the door, reached out an arm and pressed his hand to the lock beside the entrance. The device beeped a few times before flashing a green light and unlocking the door which Asch proceeded to push wide open.

"Come."

The start of something beautiful? youngest10yrold June 12 2011, 08:02:07 UTC
Luke, for one, was very glad to have a moment to stop and rest, part of Asch's robe still clutched in his fists. He'd seen so many strange and amazing things, and he didn't get to stop and look at any of them! Asch had been moving too fast; he'd had had to work his hardest just to keep up. The brief pause gave Luke enough time, though, to right his balance enough where he felt like he could let go without falling.

He stepped backwards, just enough to put a little distance between himself and Asch. He stared all around; this place was all white and black and boxy. It was so different!

Hearing his name though, Luke refocused on Asch and wobbled after him. He watched as Asch activated the lock - why was it flashing and making noises like that? - and pushed open the door. Curious, he stepped forward, stopping just over the threshold to lean forward and peer around. What was this place...?

Dunno about that. |D claim_my_place June 12 2011, 14:39:30 UTC
A spacious white room, that was what. The walls curved gently or leaned in at angles, and the floor was polished until it gleamed. Rows and rows of irregularly shaped windows invited in vast amounts of light from the outside. What furniture was available seemed clumped together and dyed bright primary colors or neutrals to contrast with the pristine white atmosphere.

Asch stifled another sigh and reached out a hand in an attempt to scoot Luke in a few more feet so he could shut the door behind them and cut off Luke's escape route. (He was actually being somewhat careful about it.) Whatever else, Asch wasn't in any mood to keep hunting him down - and Luke had made it very clear along the way that he wanted to see everything.

"If you're wondering about this place, it's where I'm staying. Just don't get any funny ideas. Your being here is only temporaryAsch more-or-less grumbled intermittently for his own benefit. Because, infuriatingly, no matter how mad he got, there was no way the other redhead would know what he was talking about ( ... )

"We're almost there." Nagisa said cheerfully over her shoulder, as she started to bring Luke to the place where she was staying. "Then we can get you something to eat, okay?"

She was having way too much fun with this, anyone could already tell that. Her sisterly skills were starting to kick in with this one...

Watch out Luke, he might end up getting spoiled.

Luke had to admit, it was kind of cool being back in the place with all the cool plants (a.k.a. in non-bitty terms "Wonderland District"). Asch's house was smooth and full of straight edges and hard things and things Asch didn't like for him to touch.

And Asch had been very angry when he'd finally been found, even though Luke had already been upset and confused about being lost. He didn't get it! He'd only gone chasing after a butterfly! And then after that there'd been this interesting tall thing (a sign), and after that a red metal thing (fire hydrant), and after that...

Well, he was kind of glad to be able to get away from an angry Asch for a little while... though he'd likely be upset later once he realized Asch wasn't coming back. But not yet. For now, Luke followed Nagisa, trying to puzzle together the question that was forming in his mind.

"Where... go...?"

"Where go?" It took a few minutes for Nagisa to figure out what he was talking about, and finally she tilted her head. "Where are we going, you mean?"

She didn't quite understand his lack of vocabulary, but she was trying to help him along at least.

It was the least she could.

So late everywhere ide... heartscrepes June 14 2011, 01:59:56 UTC
Yuri stepped up to the castle doors and turned back to make that Luke was following him still. He didn't have Repede around to herd the little speeding blur so he had to be on his toes with this one.

"Come on Luke, we're almost there." He called, waving him over a bit as he opened the doors. "You'll like it in here, plenty of places for hide and seek."

Too many he thought, but, castles are castles. It'll help wear Luke out so he can eat then go to sleep at least.

Actually chronologically it would've happened yesterday so not that late... youngest10yrold June 14 2011, 06:59:17 UTC
Luke had actually slowed down a little at the stairs leading up to the castle because, well, stairs were a new thing. There were some at Asch's house, but Asch tended not to like it if he hung around them, for some reason... Nagisa had had steps going up to her house though, so between Asch's and her house, he'd gotten practice.

So Luke was slowly ascending the shallow steps leading up to Arborn Castle by lifting one foot high into the air, and setting it on the next step, stepping forward to reach the next one and lifting the next foot high into the air again and putting it on the next step. His arms were flung out in the air to keep himself steady, and when he finally mounted the top stair, he lifted them high into the air, crying, "I di'it!"

Yuri watched Luke as he tackled the stairs and couldn't help but laugh a little at the sight. He must not have been used to them to walk like that up the stairs. It was amusing and a little bit cute, he'll admit. When Luke had finally gotten up, the swordsman clapped a bit.

"Congrats, Luke. The stairs were no match for you, huh?" Yuri asked, placing his hand on Luke's head and giving his hair a little ruffle. Give praise when praise is due, right? "You think you can take on a few more?"

Yuri led the little guy into the castle, where, well, it was huge inside, with a lot more stairs going up and up. Before he started to head for his spare room - his other one still not fully livable yet - he paused and looked back at Luke, giving him a grin.

"Unless of course, someone's in the mood for a meal?"

[There's not too much worry of that. Luke's been shadowing her very closely ever since he got here. He may not consciously understand why, but she's familiar, and with things shifting and changing so frequently for the past few days, the familiarity is a comfort.]

[ Kid unlocks the door of #305 and holds the door open for Luke to enter, flipping on the light of the foyer; it seemed that Izaya was out at the moment, and the apartment was otherwise silent. The design was simple and uncluttered (especially since Kid allowed no clutter and cleaned everything himself) and a little on the modern side.

He had also picked up some simple groceries like he usually did, but today there were also special groceries -- the fun kind. ]

Here we are. Make yourself at home.

[Luke, perhaps a little bit more steady on his feet than he was a week ago, walks ahead. The room's aesthetics remind him a little of being back at Asch's house, though a little more warm and friendly (though how much of that had to do with the fact that Kid was much friendlier than Asch about everything was up for debate). Regardless, he's a bit more sure of himself now than he was when he first turned into a child. This place was so different from back at the manor, and even if there were some scary or unsettling things, overall, he liked it.

After going a few feet ahead, he turns around and looks back at Kid.]

Eh?

[ Kid closes the door and carries the bagged groceries to the kitchen -- which since it's an open floor plan, is basically just the far side of the living room. ]

Don't worry, Luke. I'm just putting things away. Is there anything you'd like to do?
