We started our day with a trip to Buffalo Chips, a Sutter Creek institution. Because we were still full from the night before, we decided to share a savory omelet -it really was big enough for two and I got a bagel as well. One nice thing about being on vacation is sleeping in. This morning I slept in until just past five. It felt glorious and it was one of those rare mornings in which nothing hurt. After the bunkhouse fell through, we made plans to head up to the Foothills for a couple of days. We are driving up to Sutter Creek this afternoon and then our friends will drive up tomorrow and join us. I have been doing a wine wall to raise money to replace the rug in the lobby. I had managed to get wine donated, but it had gotten to the point of only have white wine left. I appealed to the board and Barb immediately donated some and she suggested I drop Carmen an e mail. She is one of our actors, on the artistic committee and a volunteer. ( Read more... )

My ear has finally unplugged and I can hear again. After a week and a half of silence, I can honestly say I have great appreciation for anyone with a hearing impairment. I never realized just how deaf my right ear is, but it's pretty much dead in the water. I'm still on antibiotics for a few more days, but I am ready to do my happy dance ( Read more... )

We had a really nice evening out with our friends on Friday. We hadn't seen them since the spring, due to a whole mess of complications on their part with their kids and grandchildren. As a rule, of course, not always. Yesterday, however, was not a banner day. It started out okay and things were not too bad and then lunch came. Now, lunch is a time of great happiness... usually. Not so much yesterday.
