1. What's a skill you'd like to learn? I'd like to learn how to really sing. I do sing even though I can't carry a tune because it truly gives me joy.

2. What's a hobby you'd like to try? I need to relearn how to crochet.

3. What's the best compliment you've ever received? That I changed the course of someone's life.

4. What's one way in which you are awesome? I have a great sense of humor, lol... if I do say so myself!

Sigh, I remember when I could dance. Not so much anymore... sigh...

1) I really want to get super fluent in Spanish. I'm barely passable right now, but working towards getting better.
2) Rock painting, or maybe pottery? I like the idea of glass-blowing, but I'm too much of a klutz, so I'm positive it would end in burn marks and shattered glass if I tried.
3) "She's the Real Deal", from a fellow musician, telling a very accomplished pianist that he should play with me. It took a lot of work to get that reputation, and felt good when it was acknowledged.
4) I don't think kindness or understanding is something that has to be earned or deserved. It's just the right thing to give, whenever you can.
5) Gift cards to the giant craft/art supply store that's about to open in town next week. Or an Alexander Key book I haven't read yet. Those are rare (at least the ones not related to Witch Mountain).

1. Keyboards. Or a language.

2. Knitting and crocheting.

3. To understand this, you have to know I (who am white/Asian) went to schools that were predominately attended by Black students. In one class, the girl who sat next to me didn't always get the assignments written down before the teacher moved on to the next thing. I'd let her see what I'd written. We moved on to talking about the classes and what we were doing. Come yearbook day, I asked her to sign my book. I was deeply gratified when I saw she'd written that I'd proved that not all white people were assholes.

4. Hmm. Pretty sure I'm not awesome about anything.

5. I have no idea. Books? CDs? More space in my house?

1. Spanish or French; can't make up my mind. Spanish comes easier to me to pronounce, by far. But French is, well, French!
