Er... I am wearing Lee Jeans. I didn't do it on purpose, I didn't know about the sponsorship. What can I say, they fit me!

I understand and sympathize with your loss and the importance of breast cancer research. But I can't help but grit my teeth at the objectification inherent in the Second Base campaigns: "Hey D00dz, we know you don't care about actual women, but you like TITS, don't you? Don't you? WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE TITS?"

I like the pink ribbon that says "save the ta-tas", but TBH, I's wear a shirt to say that even if there wasn't a breast cancer charity thing. In just makes me think of all of those "save the whales" campaigns. SAVE THE TA-TAS.

Heh. See, you and I know you're a cool person who's not a misogynist (yes, women can be misogynists), but in general, I don't like the objectification of women. Objectification for purposes of Teh Sexxeh Sexx is one thing, but reducing women to their body parts in daily life is NOT ON.

You may have a point. I have less of an issue with it. Mostly because I like the idea that we are acknowledging breasts as body parts. anyone who thinks that a person is just a dick or a vag or a breasts is a moron. But we are the sum of our parts, and breasts are lovely and I would rather acknowledge that we have them, and deal with the assholes, then bind them or never talk about them at all. I think this might be an LCD issue.

I wish there was a male equivalent so that I could get a "save the cock" sticker. On the other hand, if there was some sort of penis cancer, I bitterly suspect it would be cured by now.

LCD issue? Like a television or computer monitor? LOL!

anyone who thinks that a person is just a dick or a vag or a breasts is a moron

There are a LOT of morons out there. Think of all the idiot guys whose entire opinion of a woman depends on whether they think she's "fuckable" or not.

You know very well that I am extremely fond of (and fondle) body parts of all configurations and shapes. And I am as happy as the next fangirl to drool over pix of pretteh boyz with no clothes on. But as far as the kind of anti-cancer campaigns we're talking about, I really don't like the overtones of "even if you don't care about women as people, WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE TITS?"

I am super super glad that Boy is doing this. Kinda weird to have fingers crossed that he has to have the surgery? This appears so wrong...ahh!

Having had a reduction, not an off-ing, I do know at least one way they do it--I was running around going to movies and eating out inside of a week. It is a brilliant surgery (though my screaming joy and happiness of having it done probably made me think so).

Mwuah to Boz! )oh look, mz kezboard is suddenlz changed to the german version. cutesz!=

I know, it is weird. He's going to have the surgery anyway, but it would be awesome if insurance covered it, you know?

Er.... since you brought up the subject... do you still have full sensation in your nipples?

Yes ma'am!! No worries there, my sister does too, no problem at all. If you guys would like a blow-by-blow I would be happy to gmailchat sometime this weekend. I'm full of sage advice though it depends on if they do it keyhole or regular--I am assuming regular, given the reason for the surgery. Also depends on size too. But really? it is a really cool surgery.

The scars are pretty well all faded too.

Let Boy know! I will SO be home all weekend and am all up for it. I feel like I've hardly seen Home for over a week--because I haven't! OY!

I was just shopping yesterday, and saw: potato chips in pink bags, granola bars in pink wrappers, various candy in pink bags, tea in pink boxes, water in pink bottles, laundry detergent in pink bottles, cereal in pink boxes... everything but cat litter all wrapped up in pink. I wonder how much of the profits these companies have to give to the cause?

None--they can put pink on things in honor of a lump-sum donation already made.

I flew today, and the flight attendants on Delta had t-shirts with pink logos on and the pilots had pink ties.(And the attendants paid $5 to wear jeans, too.) If you paid $2 for a pink lemonade, it went to charity.

Apparently the flight before us raised $800(!) for Breast Cancer awareness.

Yeah, it's corporate feel-good, but a decent cause, anyway.

Breast Cancer Awareness, huh? I think we're all aware of breast cancer, thank you. I would have been more impressed if they'd raised $800 for breast cancer research.

My bad; it goes to research.I guess it's awareness MONTH.

To be honest, I didn't even know it was until I got on the plane. I haven't watched TV or shopped much lately.
