So the whole eastern side of Australia is being hideously drenched. The rural areas have been getting flooded for about a week now but it's finally hit the capital city. I thought it would die out. AND GUM BOOTS IS THE BEST NAME EVER FOR RAINBOOTS. AMERICANS ARE SO LAME, WE DO NOT EVEN CALL THEM GALOSHES OR WELLINGTONS. WE ARE SO BORING D:

I love gumboots but for some reason I tend to call them wellies instead. British terminology is always more fun to say. I feel like I need to exagerate my accent when I say gumboots. *impersonates Crocodile Dundee* :P

The rains seem to have stopped but the water is still raging through the areas around creeks and rivers. The rivers are supposed to peak tomorrow. I just heard reports of bull sharks in Goodna 0_o
But I'm fine and everyone I know is fine (though one has the lower half of her house flooded and at least one other is without power.)
Sadly no time off work for me :( but at least the amount of kids is really low since most of the parents work places are under water and they get time off.

We'll survive. We always do.
But yeah, I think it's turning out to not be as bad as originally expected and things are very organised. Even the supermarkets got re-stocked pretty quickly. I think it's more the rural people that we need to worry about.
