This is very exciting!, though I do love the way you look in those rimless eyeglasses. And may I be what is the first of many that will tell you to follow their aftercare instructions to the letter. Lifting weight of any kind may not be wise because of the pressure it creates in your eyes. A big brute like may not even notice it, but it's happening regardless.
One more thing, that pic is seriously sexy. Not at all what I expected with my oatmeal. Now I need to go out and run for a year or two.
Thanks for the props on the picture! It's natural light on one side, fluorescent on the other. It's amazing what creative cropping can do for you.
Yeah, I got both done at once. Technology has progressed to the point where I think they usually do that these days. Besides, I can't imagine having to go through this recovery regimen a second time. In my case, they did the "no cutting" technique. I wasn't a big fan of having my eyeball sliced open, so that was a selling point.
And yes, they were very up-front about the longevity of the procedure at my age. They told me that I'd need reading glasses right off the bat, but I'm fine with that. I'm just happy to be able to ditch the glasses for the other 95% of my life.
Well, thank you! I took a cameraphone picture first, then decided that I should make a better one using the heavy equipment.
The post-op instructions don't say anything about lifting. They specify aerobics, contact sports and steam rooms, but ignore lifting. Still, I think I'm going to follow y'all's advice until I can ask my doc at the next appointment.
Well, since it makes good financial sense to fix people's eyes so they don't need to file expensive claims on glasses for the rest of their lives...no, they don't cover anything but the eye exam.
Just like my dental coverage won't pay for an implant that would last a lifetime, but they WILL pay 1/3 as much for a bridge that will last five or six years. It's stupidfuckery like this that convinces me there's great savings to be had in socialized healthcare.
ARE YOU F@#$ING CRAZY? Your Doctor is telling you exactly what you should not do to jeopardize a successful outcome and you want to do it? NO FRIGGING WEIGHTS!!!!!!!!!! I ought to come down there and bitch slap you.
He didn't say anything about weights! He said no cardio. But I'm going to follow y'all's advice and not lift, at least until I can ask the doc at my next appointment.
