Following him into the bathroom, wishing such a statement did not sound so odd, Sora saw the water turn on and looked to find some paper towels to either mop the hair or dry it off afterwards. He grabbed more than he hoped they would need from a dispensary and brought them back over to the other boy.

"There was a nurse here named Medusa before... turns out she was a witch. She betrayed us, and broke the seal on a being named Asura. Real bad guy, that one. Long and short of it is, we managed to beat him. That wasn't the end of it by far, though."
He paused there, both because he wanted to dry up a little and because he wanted to see Sora's reaction."

"Oh hey, I've heard of that Asura guy, he's the one who turns everyone mad right? But wait, the guy who told me about him, told me he was still at large. How is it possible you beat him, and he's still around?"

In this case, Really Big Shit. Soul didn't like thinking about it too much. As it was, apparently failing at something he and Maka and all of his friends had tried so hard to succeed at stung.

"Sorry..." He murmured. Then, thinking that Soul's tone probably indicated an end to the conversation, he glanced up at the other boy's hair. "Um, your hair's fine now. Looks good as new. I'll definitely buy you an ice cream sometime to make up for it." And to make up for asking obviously sensitive questions.

"If you're new, you're probably short on money. Don't worry about it."

Well, he had Riku's money, at any rate, and Kairi was in charge of distribution. So it was really much more like a shared income cash pile of inflow outflow exchange relative to the amount injected from the profits of the work related to the proceedings of the day to day running of Riku's life.
So he safely concluded it would be ok.

Soul cracked a bit of a smile.
"It's cool, though. Accidents happen."

He grinned, so perhaps he hadn't ruined a potential new friendship even before it began. That was good to know. Sora really didn't like the thought that someone out there might dislike him based on a purely accidental ice-cream-to-head fiasco. And, new friends were the best thing about coming to a new world, he sincerely believed.
