Only Sora could sit on his phone and turn on functions ._.;; de_faulty_hero August 28 2011, 17:34:36 UTC
That was, by far, the weirdest looking kid he had seen since he had last been thirteen and staring into the mirror himself. It was such an eerie similarity that Cloud had stopped from sliding down another alleyway and simply watched the brunette version of himself travel to the ice cream place.

It was clear the kid was too busy staring at the sign to notice him, but he couldn't stop himself from gawking at the boy as the kid gawked at the ice cream parlour. That... wasn't him from a different world, was it? No, he would always be blonde, but that kid looked really close to him.

Cautiously, he walked silently behind the kid and stared at the mop of brown hair before reaching up and touching his own blonde spikes. "You're a weird looking kid. Did you get teased a lot?"

That's what makes him 'special' ;) key_0f_light August 29 2011, 12:35:52 UTC
Sora jumped at the sudden address. He has been so wrapped up in his own ice cream related imaginings he wasn't totally prepared to be spoken to. He spun around to see who had asked what he took to be an odd question. He had never before considered himself to be 'weird looking'.

Any chance of a scoffing remark was dismissed as soon as he realised who it was. Instead his eyes widened and his jaw practically dropped in shock. "Cloud!? You're here too?"

How long had it been since he'd seen Cloud? Months. And months. And last time he had been in the midst of battle. He didn't look too injured now though, thankfully.

Cloud withdrew a little when the kid turned around, and he was surprised by how similar they looked from the front too. Geez, what was with everyone starting to look like him again? First Aya and Lightning and now this kid and Lightning being back. He was starting to suspect someone was playing a practical joke on him.

Of course, of all the reactions he was expecting, recognition wasn't one of them. He blinked when the kid called him by name, crossing his arms over his chest and contemplating whether he had actually met this guy before. Nope, his memory might have been faulty, but he would remember a kid like this.

"How do you know my name?"

Sora faltered, but only for a second, "We've met a number of times. You helped us out."

People not recognising him when he knew them was something Sora had experienced in this world on a few occasions now. While it still seemed strange, and in a way a bit depressing, he was getting used to it. In Cloud's case, though, he was willing to consider the possibility that maybe he was the same Cloud, but somehow disappearing into the sky was in some way connected to memory loss. Which reminded him...

"Did you defeat Sephiroth?" He asked this in much the same way as one would ask whether you managed to buy milk on the way home from the shops. A pleasant, hopeful sort of tone.

Soul happened to be sitting at one of the tables, chilling out with a triple scoop (mint chocolate chip, rocky road, caramel brownie) cone. He was pretty much of the same mind as Sora: there was no such thing as too cold for ice cream.

The white-haired boy barely noticed Sora's entrance. Too busy eating, yo.

Sora barely took notice of the interior of the place, he was too focused on actually spotting the sweet foods themselves. Which he did very quickly, it was not like they tried to hide the ice cream in an ice cream shop.

He had to stop himself from running over. So. Many. Flavours. He leaned perhaps a little too closely to the glass, his eyes roving the multitude of options available. Should he go for his favourite, or try something new?

Oh, and there was still the lingering problem of price.

"Excuse me, how much is that one?" He pointed to the blueberry, "And that one?" He pointed to another equally as tasty looking flavour he'd just spotted, "And that one? ... Oh! And that one?"

The eager voice caught Soul's attention. The Weapon took another big lick of his ice cream as he glanced over, lifting an eyebrow at the funny-looking kid. Was he going to eat all of that...?

Then again, he could believe it.

Watson had told him just what the clinic needed, and how much they needed before he'd run out the door. Of course, he'd had the foresight to actually write it down given how well he often remembered things. Not that he thought that he was that bad, but it was better to be safe than sorry when it came to ordering for something so important! He wouldn't want any of the doctors to go hungry after all ( ... )

He was having a very hard time picking out an ice cream flavour for purchase. And there was still the issues of cost and quantity. He wanted them all, but knew, deep down, he would need to limit himself.

He frowned at the thought as he heard the door open and close behind him. More patrons. He wanted to make sure his indecision wasn't going to be causing too much of a line so he turned to see how many people had walked through the door.

His eyes widened a little at the sight of a face he recognised, and he smiled. This must be Yuuri, the boy from the communicator network thing. Or at least someone who looked very much like him. Odds were good though, so he left his post momentarily to walk over and say hello.

"Yuuri?" He asked, smiling.

Rubbing his arms with his hands, Yuuri seemed to instantly relax as his body began to warm up. The next time he had to run an errand, he was going to bring his jacket! He didn't want to end up with a cold, after all!

"Huh?" He sounded before glancing back over to where his name was being asked. Blinking, it only took him a second for his mind to supply him with a memory. Eyes widening, the young Maou spun around to face the other boy. "Eeeeh?! Sora?" Yuuri asked sounding entirely surprised.

While Yuuri’s startled reaction was in some ways quite amusing, Sora hoped that it didn’t mean Yuuri wasn’t happy to see him. He always preferred to think positively though, so unless instructed otherwise he would continue to assume it was just shock.

Sora laughed, “Yes, it’s me. From the network thing. How are you?”

Yuuri looking freezing, to put it bluntly. This wasn’t hard to identify though, normally people who rubbed their arms like that only did so to restore warmth to them. Sora himself was wearing a jacket only because he already had been whilst sitting at home (they were free on the first day, so he hadn’t thought twice about keeping it) but he was barely feeling the cold himself, so he took it off and offered it to Yuuri; “Would you like to borrow this?”

Aqua didn't have any plans to stop at Death Robbins today. While she liked ice cream, the weather was far too cold for the frozen treats.

If it weren't for a familiar figure (or rather, a familiar head of spiky brown hair) she probably would have just passed by without stopping.

"Sora?"

Sora had been so enraptured with the ice cream store that he hadn't heard her approach. He gave a little start as she said his name but he immediately recognised the voice and so turned to her with a smile.

"Aqua! It's great to see you again. Are you here for ice cream too?" He was terrible at masking his emotions, so hopefulness definitely shone through in his tone. Maybe Aqua enjoyed ice cream just as much as him? He would have called it a quality of a keyblade bearer but both Riku and Kairi did not share his passion nearly to the same extent. In fact at times he suspected they partook of the tasty treat solely for his benefit. He wasn't about to bring that up in complaint though. Eating ice cream with friends was much more enjoyable than eating ice cream alone. In fact, after their last conversation, Sora suspected Aqua could have used some right about now.

She matched his smile with a smaller one of her own.

"...I was just passing by, actually."

Aqua had half a mind to remind him that it as still too cold for ice cream but in the face of Sora's enthusiasm it almost felt like she was plotting to kick a puppy so she refrained for now.

She looked between Sora and the ice creamery.

"Is that why you're here?" Though the answer to that seemed rather obvious.

"Oh," He didn't do very well at keeping the small amount of dejection from his voice. He had been hoping Aqua might come inside and join him for some ice cream too.

But he was a man on a mission, and for the time being he was going to keep pursuing this goal. "Yup, that's why I'm here. Only found out this city had an ice cream place a little while ago! Can you believe it?" He grinned, his enthusiasm for ice cream was practically limitless, but his passion for helping those in need certainly out weighed it (in most cases). He would have to keep attempting to evaluate whether Aqua was indeed feeling any better or not.

Kairi had now been in Death City for a few days, and her curiosity at everything was only growing larger. She wanted to explore everywhere! It was true that some places were more interesting than others, and some she had no desire to go near at all. The city was so much bigger than her home back at the Islands, and everything was different. The heat was familiar, though she wasn't used to the dryness. It was awfully annoying.

It also made her want ice cream. She had been searching through the shops in the general shopping district when she spotted it: Death Robbins. The name was a bit strange, but she found most of the things here were called something similiar. So, not hesitating at all, she pushed open the door and stepping inside. Good choice, she decided, when the smell of ice cream hit her.

It was only when she got to the counter that she recognized the back of someone's head. Someone she would know anywhere. "Sora!!"

ilu too.. but.. it's actually winter and quite cold in the city atm ^^" .. i think, anyway /squishes key_0f_light September 9 2011, 14:24:48 UTC
Sora was still unable to decide whether to go for four scoops or five, when he heard a familiar voice call his name behind him. Abandoning the debate for a moment, he turned and greeted her, even before he saw her.

"Kairi!" There she was, in the ice creamery as well. He had a sudden urge to ask her where she'd been and what she'd been up to, but thought it might have sounded a bit too abrasive. He could politely ask later, first things first; "Are you here to eat some ice cream too?"

He smiled, he was in fact quite pleased to see her. This city didn't seem dangerous at first, but people kept telling him it was likely the calm before the storm, as it were. He was also simply happy to be able to spend time with her. Close to three years without her, trying to find her, and now she was right here. In an ice cream store. Did life get any better than this? Sora thought not.

She smiled as he turned around. In true Sora fashion, he was as excited as ever when it came to eating ice cream. "Why else would I be in here?" She teased. Although he did have a point, she might have only been popping in, since she was on a mission to explore.

"What kind are you getting?" She glanced behind him towards the counter, "And how many scoops?" Kairi thought two was a good amount, that was she wouldn't have to choose between her favourites.

Sora felt a little bubble of happiness form as he heard that Kairi was indeed here for the purposes of ice cream gathering. That, hopefully, meant that they could eat together. He always wished he'd had time to introduce her to Uncle Scrooge's ice creamery and the unique flavours it offered, but unfortunately there had been no opportunity before they had all returned home.

He turned back to the counter and pondered his answer. "I'm not sure yet, I don't know which ones to pick, or how many. What do you think you might get?"
