Watson had told him just what the clinic needed, and how much they needed before he'd run out the door. Of course, he'd had the foresight to actually write it down given how well he often remembered things. Not that he thought that he was that bad, but it was better to be safe than sorry when it came to ordering for something so important! He wouldn't want any of the doctors to go hungry after all ( ... )

He was having a very hard time picking out an ice cream flavour for purchase. And there was still the issues of cost and quantity. He wanted them all, but knew, deep down, he would need to limit himself.

He frowned at the thought as he heard the door open and close behind him. More patrons. He wanted to make sure his indecision wasn't going to be causing too much of a line so he turned to see how many people had walked through the door.

His eyes widened a little at the sight of a face he recognised, and he smiled. This must be Yuuri, the boy from the communicator network thing. Or at least someone who looked very much like him. Odds were good though, so he left his post momentarily to walk over and say hello.

"Yuuri?" He asked, smiling.

Rubbing his arms with his hands, Yuuri seemed to instantly relax as his body began to warm up. The next time he had to run an errand, he was going to bring his jacket! He didn't want to end up with a cold, after all!

"Huh?" He sounded before glancing back over to where his name was being asked. Blinking, it only took him a second for his mind to supply him with a memory. Eyes widening, the young Maou spun around to face the other boy. "Eeeeh?! Sora?" Yuuri asked sounding entirely surprised.

While Yuuri’s startled reaction was in some ways quite amusing, Sora hoped that it didn’t mean Yuuri wasn’t happy to see him. He always preferred to think positively though, so unless instructed otherwise he would continue to assume it was just shock.

Sora laughed, “Yes, it’s me. From the network thing. How are you?”

Yuuri looking freezing, to put it bluntly. This wasn’t hard to identify though, normally people who rubbed their arms like that only did so to restore warmth to them. Sora himself was wearing a jacket only because he already had been whilst sitting at home (they were free on the first day, so he hadn’t thought twice about keeping it) but he was barely feeling the cold himself, so he took it off and offered it to Yuuri; “Would you like to borrow this?”

He hadn't really expected to come across anyone that he knew, but when the other boy seemed to confirm his question, Yuuri's expression immediately brightened. "Yeah I remember," Yuuri said with a smile. "I'm good, how about you?"

Watching as Sora took off his jacket, the young Maou blinked when it was offered to him. "Are you sure?" He was cold, yeah, but Yuuri didn't want to deprive anyone else of their warmth just because he'd left his behind at the clinic. "I'll be fine. All I need to do is just give myself a minute to warm up.'

“I’m pretty good. I only just discovered Death City has its own ice creamery! Can you believe it?” His enthusiasm was extremely pronounced, eyes lighting up like a Christmas tree and fists clenched in front of him in excitement.

Coming back to Earth, however, he watched Yuuri try to refuse the jacket, and instead simply proffered it a second time. “No, I’ll be fine. Take the jacket, you look like ice. Wait in here for a little while if you still want. You could help me choose an ice cream flavour? I was having trouble.”

Sora usually needed help deciding when presented with so many options. It was a little known fact that Goofy was a worlds-class ice cream critic. He had helped Sora pick out flavours more times than he could remember.

"Eeee! Yeah it is pretty unbelievable isn't it!" Yuuri said with just as much enthusiasm. He'd been here for so long that he didn't really take notice of all of the odd things around the place. While there were no skeletons flying around or banana boats, Yuuri had come to call Death City just as much of a home as Shin Makoku or Japan.

When the jacket was offered a second time, Yuuri had little choice but to take it. The small pang of guilt at refusing had settled in, and as he reluctantly took the jacket, the young Maou bowed as he offered his thanks. That was kind of Sora, and he'd have to think of a way to repay his new-found friend.

"Sure, I can help you with that," Yuuri said with a grin. Tucking the jacket under his arm, the young Maou made his way over to where the ice cream was all on display. "What flavours do you usually like?"

Sora smiled in appreciation when Yuuri agreed and took the jacket. The last thing he wanted was for him to get sick. What kind of impression would that have made ( ... )

Yuuri listened quietly to Sora. Hmm that did sound like a good combination to him! But he could also understand his friend's plight. Peering over at the other flavours, the young Maou made a soft thoughtful sound as he considered them.

"Well, why don't you have the vanilla and blueberry one today, and pick a new flavour next time?" Yuuri suggested while glancing at his friend. That was what he would do, but Sora might want to try something different than the usual.

Sora considered Yuuri's proposal, it made sense, so he nodded in appreciation. "That's a good idea, I'll go with that!" He spoke to the person attending the counter and ordered, then paused and turned back to Yuuri, he thought perhaps the cold might put him off having some ice cream of his own, but considered it was much kinder to ask than assume.

"Are you getting any Yuuri?"

"That's great!" He was glad that his suggestion was something Sora approved of! That was what he would have done even if there were so many tempting flavours behind the glass case.

Blinking, he peered at Sora. When was the last time that he had an ice cream? Yuuri couldn't even remember, and he inwardly grinned sheepishly at the thought. "Sure! Now let me see..." Yuuri's words trailed off as he looked at the options available. "I think that I'll just go for vanilla myself."

Sora critically analysed Yuuri's choice of flavour. It was simple, sure, but a staple, and got along well with almost any other flavour too!

If Sora was a wiser person he might have thought that spoke volumes about Yuuri's personal character. As it was, however, he just thought it was a nice choice.

"Good choice! We can eat on the way to your errand, if you like?" Sora often invited himself along to things where friends were concerned. He wasn't one for being too offended if people said no either. In this case though, he wanted to make sure Yuuri didn't spend too much time off the clock on his behalf.

With his mind made up, Yuuri placed his order right after telling Sora's to the lady behind the counter. No sooner had the words came out of his mouth did he find himself pausing at Sora's offer. He blinked in surprise before glancing over at his friend.

"Eeh? You want to come along with me?" Yuuri asked. It wasn't as though he minded at all, but he hadn't expected it either!

Sora smiled and shrugged, "Sure! I don't have plans for the afternoon anyway, and maybe I could help you with whatever you need to do?"

Helping people was what Sora did best. He hadn't been able to help enough in this town yet, and helping a friend was especially high on his list of priorities. Not that Yuuri wouldn't have been able to handle whatever task he needed to complete, but Sora always preferred to be in a group if the offer was there, rather than get things done alone.

"Alright, that would be great," Yuuri said with a nod. He didn't mind Sora tagging along at all even if his work wasn't all that difficult. Smiling, he gestured for his friend to follow as he said, "It's just a little shopping for the clinic, so it's nothing too difficult."

They had their ice creams now, and with a welcoming wave, the young Maou gestured for his friend to follow. It wouldn't take long, but it was a good way to get to know Sora better. And with that thought, he made his way out of the shop and continued on his way.
