KISHIN CHAMBER [Open to New guests + NPCs + Volunteers] daddyscythe August 14 2011, 04:29:38 UTC
Spirit wasn't sure what to think about this crowd. He'd seen it from the camera inside the kishin chamber, and there was certainly... a lot more than usual this time. Was the BREW expecting something horrible to happen to them in the next few weeks? Spirit should make a note to himself to enhance defenses or something.

Nevermind that, they were coming out!

“Hello!” the redhead greeted when one of his staff opened the door to reveal the confused faces inside. He was a tall man with shockingly red hair and a large smile. “The first thing we’ll do is hand you your communicators. It’s a device that will allow you to connect with all the other guests here like you. It has other functions that you can read about later on in the manual.”

Spirit jerked a thumb at everyone accompanying him, a fairly large and odd assortment of people. “We’re going to be going on a tour to help you adjust to the city better. Most of these guys are guests like yourself, so if you’d like to ask some questions, feel free to approach any of them, too.”

[Mary is completely relaxed and cheerful this time around. She knows the drill. In fact, she already knows some of the staff! She's still only 10 though, she won't be insulted if some of the volunteers think she needs some help.]

[First time doing this for him, but he's definitely going to do his best!

...But he's expecting to see new people, not familiar face.]

Miss Mary?

Considering that this was the... third? Fourth? time in a row that the kid was doing this, most people should have been comfortable with it by now. Unfortunately, Crona was not exactly like most people - despite the number of times s/he had already did this, it was still impossible to keep out the fear, apprehension and nervousness that came everytime the kid did this. The fact that s/he always needed to see new people everytime s/he was doing this wasn’t exactly helping either - for Crona, familiarity was the best thing for the kid; something that couldn’t be available right now, what with BREW doing its near-constant thing ( ... )

Ram couldn't help but look around him in amazement. All was so strange, so new, so fascinating. Not just the user's world, with more colors than he ever saw, but the user themselves. Some were a bit more strange than others, but all of them seemed important to him and he had so many questions. But one of them was more important than the others, and now he had the opportunity to ask it.

"Actually..."

The voice was what caught Crona's attention, and the kid looked up to glance over at the strange... person... thing who had spoken.

"Y-Yes...?" Out of all the guests s/he had seen, this particular guest certainly topped the ranks of the strangest people who Crona had seen - and the kid had certainly already seen a lot.

Right, because Crona and Ragnarok look oh so normal XD Program, to be exactly, and yes they are weird. But this one is also very friendly and he smiles down at the kid ad that strange looking thing on his back.

"I wanted to know if maybe my User was here, since this is the user's world and all, and how could I find him."

Having finally lead beyond the bizarre confines of Shibusen Academy’s grounds, the next part of the tour rewards the patience - or lack thereof, but it truly makes no difference - of those obediently following with their first sight of the new world that they’ll be living in. Meeting the eyes is the only very mildly impressive view of a broad, open terrace, just beyond the main entrance. Surrounding the premises to the curious beholder, though, stretches the significantly more impressive expanse of Death City, and beyond even that, all the way to the horizon, rolls the seemingly-endless desert of Nevada, United States. Despite being a desert, it seems that the weather has taken a turn for the cold here, because the air can actually be described as chilly. It’s bright in Nevada, however, and a quick look up will show you a freakish-looking sun grinning either welcomingly or malevolently, but nonetheless in greeting at the newcomers below ( ... )

[Ram stared at the sun until his eyes started to hurt and he had to look away. He never saw anything like that before. He didnt' even know what 'that' was. It was so bright, too bright. There was nothing like it in the grid.

He looked back to the users and waited until the smaller one stopped talking.]Are there virus in the field and that's why people go crazy?

Yeah, don't mind the sun. Guests always think it's weird. [He doesn't miss a thing, Black★Star.] No idea why, though...

...Virus? [He looks perplexed.] No, it's not like... a disease or something. [He scratches at his head. Man, it's hard trying to explain to people who don't know anything.] It's kind of... this 'aura' that makes you go nuts.

At the base of the stairs waits a rather peculiar sight: parked right in front of it is what appears to be a small dune buggy. What sets it apart as remarkable is the fact that a vast collection of speakers and subwoofers hang off of it, to the extent that it remains in question whether or not the vehicle can even move under the combined weight of them. Behind it is coupled, of all things, three large black coffins on wheels, linked together in some kind of morbid road train. Standing next to it is a vacant-eyed youth wearing the garb of a priest, presumably “Justin”, who Black★Star was referring to earlier. Several other people were standing nearby.

Wordlessly, he turns and jumps into the seat of the buggy and fires it up, sending gouts of smoke spilling from the gigantic exhausts. The engine is loud, but not nearly as much as the sound that assaults the ears of everybody present within a kilometer radius as the speakers roar to life with offensively loud and brain-breaking Techno. With music blaring, the train begins to move and ( ... )

Recalling Black★Star's reference to someone named Justin, L figures that this has to be him. Not that he's thrilled; priests, along with doctors and politicians, have always made him somewhat uneasy. That's not all; that incredibly lavish sound system has his sensitive eardrums aching already. He has a feeling that he's not going to like what's coming next.

Fuck L's intuition. He knew it. That techno is awful; it claws at the inside of his head, and his hands fly to his ears to attempt to block it out. But the bass still pounds against the inside of his chest. L dives for the train just to get away from Justin and his terrible taste.

He doesn't hear his communicator beep. He can't, but he notices several other people looking at theirs. Rather than take out his own, he leans over to look at the one in the lap of the person sitting in front of him so he can keep his hands over his ears ( ... )

L jumped when he heard the voice; his nerves were frazzled, and switching modes from "braced and enduring difficult stimuli" to "open for conversation" was rather difficult for him.

"I... yes. I'm new," he snapped, in a tone that was probably a good degree harsher than he intended it to be. A perceptive person could probably pick up on his uneasiness, and it was likely that Auron could, especially since he'd initially noticed L's reaction to the pounding techno.

And here they were again, with new people and tours and questions and possible molestation. Interestingly enough, though, Soul wasn’t grumpy at all. He was, in fact, in the best fucking mood he’s been in ages. Who can blame him? He just hit goddamned Death Scythe ( ... )

SEES Thread [Open to New guests + NPCs + Volunteers] socialinking August 15 2011, 02:24:19 UTC
That's what the table full of baskets were for; the new guests that had just arrived. SEES had put a lot of work into them all, filling them with cans of food, bottles of shampoo and conditioner with bars of soap, along with a few changes of clothes, both male and female. Just in case someone came in in their pajamas.

But there were several people around in the different areas, all wearing a red armband with the acronym SEES on it; they're there to help. And Souji, with his basket of goods at the C.C, is there to help out in this area of the tour. So come on up to him, ask any questions about Death City or SEES, and grab your free basket!
