[A pause, as Date thinks though on the stuff he’s seen (and used) before.] I’ve mainly worked with swords - all of them weren’t katanas exactly, and Koujurou was a nodachi. Dante’s a claymore... [Another pause as he tries to recall more.] I’ve attempted to resonate with dual blades before as well, along with a ring. And one of the Deathscythe’s apparently a guillotine from what I can tell... I’ve also fought with a Weapon who had saws on his feet and legs. [Oh Giriko, how Date remembers you. At least he’s managed to keep his tone neutral here.]

One of the Shibusen students here turn into a variety of forms as well. [Another pause, and the older samurai eventually shrugs.] There’s a whole lot more as well, but its hard to really explain it unless you see it for yourself. [That’s really the best way to put things into perspective, really.]

[Date makes a mildly amused face at Ieyasu’s reactions to what he had said - he had expected something like that. Even he himself had been sceptical to some of the things he had seen at first glance - but by now he knew that whatever BREW gave, it was a lot more than what met the eye.]

Some of the forms seem to reflect the other, or its something that had meaning to them. Dante’s one is apparently the weapon he got from his own father back in his own world. [Something which he learned from Vergil, although Date has never told Dante about this.] I’m not too sure myself though, and I don’t think anybody really understands what BREW is up to in the first place.

[He’ll just leave his answers at that, mainly because he isn’t quite sure what else to say. Still, he makes a vague shrug at Ieyasu’s last comment.] It’s cool. A lot of things here need time to get used to, I know. [He himself had to take quite a while as well. At least he had a month to himself before the influx of people from Hi-No-Moto started to stream in.]

[The head of Oshu lets out a small snort at the mention of them being Weapons. Honestly if he had the chance, Date would never want to be a Weapon. He knows that being a Weapon isn’t all that its cracked up to be, but he still can’t help but get the feeling of being used if he was a Weapon. No, being a Meister was much better suited to his tastes. He’s glad that BREW gave him this small favor, at the very least.]

[But yes, back to the topic at hand.] If you wish to know more, Mustang has a bunch of notes about BREW complied up; you can ask him about it if you want to know more. As for other things... [He needs to pause here in order to recall properly; his memories are not exactly the best since he had been returned to Hi-No-Moto for a time after being here before.] ...I don’t recall clearly, but I think one of the other guests has a bunch of notes as well about things in general. You can ask on the network, should you feel like it.

[He remembers vaguely, but he can’t exactly recall it - that’s what happens when you get taken away ( ... )

There aren’t a lot of them, but the ones that are around are somewhat useful in a certain capacity or another. [Not that Date himself is one to really bother too much about things like these, but the things he’s seen do impress him, at the very least.] I’m sure they’ll be willing to share, anyhow.

[And hey, he supposes that being refreshed himself would be a good idea, what with his own jumbled memories and all that - not everything came back to him after the hoo-haa that BREW put him through after Michigan.]

[A small sound of agreement at that.] The residents here have been helpful, I have to agree. [He’s even gotten close to one of them - Tsubaki, one of the students. She’s been nice and very helpful, and Date can’t help but take a liking to the younger girl. It’s helped that she’s been very helpful to him ever since they first met. And the other residents too haven’t really done anything to make him disapprove of them in particular...]

...all the more reason why we should help in finishing this war, more than just returning to our world. [A pause.] They deserve their own peace too, and since we’re here we might as well help them in any way that we are able to. [Perhaps when he first arrived here he wouldn’t have said something like that, but many things have happened and circumstances have changed, and now more and more Date is seeing reasons why he should fight - why he should protect the people here, even if they weren’t ‘his’. They were still people that needed to be protected, anyway.]

[Date responds with another small grunt.] There’s no use wondering too much about Hi-No-Moto when we can’t return there at all until BREW decides to. Since we’re here, we might as well do our best here and try to get back as soon as possible. [Even if now, at times, Date can only wonder just when the end would be - its so hard to think about it now, more and more. The war is still going here, and it only seems like the other party is gaining the advantage; the last attack had shown that much, at least. Worrying, really...]

[...but again, there’s not much he can do at the moment. The older samurai frowns a bit, resisting the urge to bite his lip as he directs his attention to his refilled glass of water (one of the waitresses had filled it up earlier) and downs a mouthful of it before speaking again.] Besides, this place ain’t half bad anyway if you ignore the heat and sun and the moon above.

[No matter what, the sun and the moon would forever be creepy to Date. Seriously, why the hell did they even have faces? It was just unsettling ( ... )

ONE MORE THREAD JAS getyourgunson April 20 2011, 10:01:36 UTC
That’s the only thing we can do at this moment. [For Date himself, he has every intention to go back to Oshu once this war was over, of course - while Death City and its inhabitants had grown on him in ways he never expected, in the end his own people and lands were still the most important thing, first and foremost. As much as he might regret having to put Death City behind him in the future, his priority was always with Oshu; there was no way around that. That was the responsibility he carried as the head of Oshu.]

[Taking another drink of his water, Date falls into a contemplative silence for a moment, wondering. Thinking about it, he had changed quite a bit ever since his first arrival in this world - a lot of things had happened as well, and more and more these days he found himself wondering about things he wouldn’t even have thought about back in Hi-No-Moto.] ...I do hope that this war can be finished though, for all our sakes. [Now more than ever, there’s so much more riding on it then when he first began.]
