[Date perks up from his own train of thoughts when he hears Ieyasu’s voice from the distance, and he turns around to properly regard the other warlord as he comes closer. He still looks pretty much the same as always, although there was a peculiar light in his eyes which had to make the man pause a little. He supposes he can ask about it later, if Ieyasu is willing to talk about it - after everything, its the least he could try to do. Of course, he’s certainly not the best kind of guy to talk about issues... but hey, if it helps somehow then why not.]

[But yeah, at least Ieyasu’s here now; he can think about that later once he did what he wanted to do. Date shakes his head once the other is close enough, breaking into a small grin afterwards.] Nah, not too long. [Makes a gesture towards the doors of Death Robbins then.] Come on in.

[Date lets out a small bark of laughter at Ieyasu’s words, grinning as he replies in turn.] You’ll get used to this place in time. [He himself had to take quite a bit as well - at least by the time Sanada Yukimura came, he already had a month to get used to Death City. That did make things sort of relatively easier, in a sense.]

[So yes, letting Ieyasu into the establishment now, Date following behind as he closes the door. Despite the loss of their owner a while back it seems that the place is still doing quite fine, as there is still quite a bit of a crowd in spite of the time of the day. Date takes a moment to glance around the place before spotting a nice table at the side, and he makes a gesture at Ieyasu before leading them both to said seats and settling down quite nicely. Once he’s settled, Date will help himself to the menu, peering at the usual exotic choice of flavors and ways of which to eat ice-cream.]

Seems like nothing has really changed... [More to himself than Ieyasu here, but Date soon looks up at the other and ( ... )

[The ruffling’s only for a bit, and soon Date withdraws - although he’s still grinning. He finally takes the spoon out of his mouth and polishes up the last of his ice-cream - the thing’s starting to melt quickly, so leaving it out now would be just a waste instead. Fortunately there’s not much left to eat up, and its only a few more minutes before the older samurai finishes up his ice-cream.]

That hit the spot. [Yeah, it really did enjoy the ice-cream it seems, and it shows. Helping himself to a glass of water now.] Oh yeah - while we’re at it, it would be good for you to join the Watch. You can earn good money there for your stuff. [Plus its a good job anyway, so why not. And he’s Zone Leader too now, which makes things even better.]

[Date makes a small shrug in return.] Why not? Koujurou, Sanada Yukimura and Motochika is there - the Boss Lady, too. [It seriously surprised him when he saw Saika’s name on the list; while he knew she was in Death City, he didn’t know that she was part of the Watch as well until recently. He should really try and contact her properly sometime when he had the chance, that one time wasn't that good enough... it had been a long time since he last saw her.]

[There’s a brief pause here, and Date speaks up again - this time attempting to explain things better so that Ieyasu’s more accepting.] It’s basically a force to ensure that the people of Death City don’t come to any harm in the case of an attack... but we also ensure that there’s peace in the city as well, and that nobody tries to start anything. Dante and I were just promoted to Zone Leaders too, so we can help you as well if you need anything.

[And then Dante can actually do something for once instead of slacking... really, he needed to show something to Mustang at least.]

[Ah, the meeting... that still left one hell of a sour taste in Date’s mouth, considering the things that had happened there - if anything, it only proved to him that it was impossible for them to work together on any level. Which was why he had made this alliance in the first place - at least now, both he and Ieyasu were on the same ‘side’ as it were.] We just have to make the most out of it. Worse comes to worse, we’ll just leave them on their own and work with those who are willing to do so.

[It may be harsh and somewhat cruel, but that’s possibly the only way that things will work. More than just themselves, the safety of the other guests and the residents of this place was also going to be affected with the decisions they made in here. Date can’t just leave something as big as this hanging for far too long.]

[Likewise, Date does hope that they can keep their relations here as peaceful as possible - he doesn’t like Mitsunari, and he certainly doesn’t like Mori, but still he’s not going to do anything against them unless they give him reason to. They weren’t in Hi-No-Moto now, after all - their war wasn’t here, and so he had no reason to pick up arms against them. But still...]

[...well, no point thinking about this (again). Date just breathes out loudly through his nose, taking another drink of his water.] Again, nothing to do but to wait and see what happens. [He really doesn’t like having to do this, but at this point there’s really not much else he can do, considering everything. Even so, this whole waiting business really grates at his nerves.]
