But she still wasn't used to having a whole apartment to herself, and she thought maybe filling the empty bookshelf in it with books might make it feel more homey to her. Or, failing that, give her something to do if she got lonely in there.
She ended up somewhere closer to the back of the shop, with a large book titled, "The Encyclopedia of Things That Never Were" tucked under one arm, while the other trailed over the bindings of the books on the shelf beside her.

However, she might soon sense something moving beneath her line of vision. The volume of the comic he'd been reading was added to a stack of things he'd already read, and now... he was scuttling past her on all fours to grab the next one off of the bottom shelf near where she was standing, like some kind of demented crab.
"Pardon me!" He excused, yoinking the book and literally reversing.

Her hand dropped from the book on the shelf and she made her way over to the boy. She dropped into a crouch, and laid the book she was still carrying over her knees.
"Hello."

"Hello," he replied - or repeated? - as he made eye contact. Her appearance stood out to him though. For one thing, she was awfully ... blue. He stared a bit, but decided to see what she wanted to say to him first.

"Really?" He glanced innocuously between the pie, and the rest of the things in the cart. Then he shrugged.
"Hm. I thought it was an ordinary shopping trip, yet I must confess, I am certainly looking forward to some of this."

"Yes, I am."

The red light district, Spirit skipped today, because being seen there at any time of the day was bad for him now that he was trying to prove to Maka that he was going to be a faithful daddy from now on.
It was in the middle of the mall that he noticed a familiar face among the thin crowd. "Hey, Ryuuga!" Spirit called cheerfully.

"You're looking cheerful today," he commented, grinning from ear to ear. "How's the agency? Getting on well?"
Reply
"From the sound of it, yes. Perhaps I'll even join it myself one day," he commented absently, not caring too much if it outed him as "Ryuzaki" instead of "Ryuuga" now that he'd gotten the initial reaction chalked down.

"Freakish?" He questioned, although inside his head, it was more of an absent throw-in. "What exactly is there to explain? Especially,"
He shut the manga, tilting his head.
"Since you and I had no such agreement. Of this I am certain."
After all, how could they have? This was the first time B had ever met him.

"..Ryuuga-san?" she called, assuming it was the sleuth detective and using his assumed persona while in Death City.

Well, of course it wouldn't be. And for the third time that day, he was mistaken for L. Death City was on a roll. He'd also never heard of any female acquaintances, he thought as he turned to face Misa.
And then he stared a bit. She was ... ridiculously cute.
"Well, almost," he finally answered, pulling on his lip. His character did not break any more than his gaze did.

"Do you think Misa should be a nurse or get some material and make a Gothic Lolita dress for Halloween?" she asked, showing him the nurse outfit on it's hanger in front of her.

"Silly? My mistake," B said with a shrug, rolling with it. Which lead him to his next move - staring at the nurse costume like a deer in the headlights.
What the hell was he supposed to do with this? L probably wouldn't care, he thought. But B was all for cute girls in cute costumes, so after a moment of decision, he tilted his head.
"Mmm... I don't doubt that you could look good in a nurse's costume, but I think you can do better."
She seemed to have good fashion sense - this was the correct answer, right?
