"You don't have to tell me twice! It doesn't smell half bad."

The goat clambered up onto the chair and positioned his face firmly in front of the bowl. He was happy to dig in to a delicious meal - Tetsu was pleased to learn that Frank took instruction really well, so there was no reason for it to be a disaster.

Tetsu placed the bowl to his lips and drank the whole thing down. It was gone in a matter of seconds. He set the bowl back down on the table and smacked his lips.

"Really good, Frank. Now that's how to eat. I still like raw meat most of the time, though. Don't get me wrong."

"So it's alright then?" he asked. He'd never really tried to cook before; at least, not anything more complex than instant noodles.

"Think Big Boss will like it?"

"If he doesn't, he's crazy!" Tetsu exclaimed. "But I'd be glad to add some of my own 'special sauce' to his share. Heh heh heh."

Still lounging about in the sitting room (his new favorite place to relax), Big Boss pocketed his DreamBerry after finishing his conversation with Frank. He had absolutely no idea what the boy wanted, but he was sure he'd find out soon enough if he just waited.

Frank soon entered the sitting room, bowl of stew in hand. Without a word, he stepped over to his commander and held the bowl out to the man.

At the end of the day, Raiden had found not a single trace of Solid Snake. With nothing more to do and nowhere else to go - he'd been alone for most of the day, anyway, ruminating over this disturbing problem - he took Gray up on his invitation to join him and Big Boss at Outer Heaven.

However, he didn't feel right knocking on the door of a military base, but nor did he feel all right with simply entering without warning. Instead, he chose to take a seat beside the base's front doorstep, back to the wall, head bowed. He was sure Gray would be out on patrol soon enough. In the meantime, he'd shut his eyes and think. There had to be something he missed...

Sure enough, Frank exited the main entrance of Outer Heaven just a short time later. Eyes straight ahead, he stopped on the doorstep; sensing Raiden before even seeing him. He slowly turned his head, looking to the seated cyborg.

"...Raiden. You've arrived."

Frank glanced around, trying to keep an eye out for Snake.

Raiden twitched slightly. Although he heard Frank coming, he was shamed to admit that he was actually drifting off into a very light nap. Despite his night on the couch, he hasn't been getting much sleep. He mentally shook himself out of his daze.

"... Hello, Gray," Raiden nodded. He gathered his things and rose to his feet, glancing past the boy and into the threshold of Outer Heaven.

"It smells like you made good use of the cookbooks you found."

"I helped make stew," the young soldier replied, nodding to Raiden as he followed the cyborg back inside. Patrol could wait for now. He moved back towards the stairs that lead to the upper level, motioning for the man to follow.

"My commander is in the sitting room."

Some time after Raiden and Frank went up to the roof, the front door was pushed open. Ocelot entered, eyes down and hat gone, and lacking the usual swagger in his steps.

Not relaxing in the sitting room for once, Big Boss was alert and at the door in a matter or seconds. It hadn't escaped the older soldier's notice that Ocelot had been gone for the entire day, not even showing up to prepare dinner at the usual time for him. Ocelot was lucky that Frank had decided to pick that night to cook or Big Boss might have actually been a little displeased with the man.

However, something seemed off with him. He usually strutted around the base like he owned the place.

Big Boss gestured at his head. "Your hat is gone." It was the closest he could come to asking what was wrong.

Ocelot hesitated, then met his eye. For a moment, Ocelot stiffened, looking like he was seeing a ghost.

"..." It took him a few seconds to register what Big Boss was saying. His mouth twitched. He looked to the side and touched his hair with one hand. "It..." he frowned, and tried again. "...I guess fell off somewhere... John."
