[Not knowing the circumstances under which he got it, Niall was confused. He could imagine Irial fighting her if she was attempting to unseat him, but Niall was King now. His confusion showed briefly, and his eyes again went to the wound as he thought things over. It was odd it hadn't healed yet, very odd. Given the attack it was also suspect.
For now he would keep such thoughts to himself, and instead he gave Irial a faint smirk.] Glad to hear it wasn't me. [Because this not-remembering-thing was really getting under his skin.]
It would be redundant now, in any case. [Irial replied. It did not have quite the same effect, as when he spoke the words before to Niall under different circumstances. Naturally, the Dark King did not remember because he had not even experienced the events that would have formed such memories.
[Removing the package of cigarettes from his back pocket, Irial procured a cigarette and a lighter, walking further into the living room and across to the nearest window sill. It was not the same as smoking from his roof, embraced by the open air, but it took less energy to climb up onto the window sill and open the window, his wings plainly visible at his bare back within the comfort of his own home
[He flicked the lighter, the flame catching on the end of the cigarette, and Irial closed his eyes before taking the initial drag]

[He hated how much he wanted to follow Irial, to move close to him, share his cigarette. He hated how he started moving without giving himself permission to.
To his (small bit of) credit, Niall didn't reach for Irial's cigarette but rather reached into the man's back pocket and got out the pack, taking one for himself and tapping it on the package before returning that to Irial's pocket. He stuck the end between his lips and waited expectantly for Irial to offer him a light.]
[Irial's mouth curved around the cigarette, amused by Niall's acquisition of the cigarette, pleased by the confident maneuver. Giving into the Dark King's unspoken request, Irial flicked the lighter again, igniting the end of the cigarette for him]
