[This must be it. Graham glances down at his Dreamberry one more time, making sure he'd followed the directions precisely, and nods. Regarding the door, he pauses a moment, not sure whether to simply enter or knock. Settling on the more respectful option, he raps twice on the door and waits.]

*The sound of footsteps from inside, and then Treize pulls open the door*

Captain Aker. I'm glad you could join me.

[He find a salute comes almost instinctively - Treize certainly has a commander's presence in the flesh.]

Colonel Khushrenada. It's my pleasure, I assure you.

*Smartly returns the salute, holding it for a moment before relaxing and motioning for Graham to do the same - he steps backward, holding the door open for the man* Please, come in. We have much to discuss.

[To say that James had been quite confused as of late would be a gross understatement. After having run into his fair share of strange folk (talking plants, French amnesiacs, and vampires, oh my), talking to Treize had been a welcome event. For all he knew, joining Khushrenada’s motley crew could turn out to be a grave mistake. For the time being, however, having a sense of purpose would help Doakes keep his wits about him. The worst thing that could happen to the former military man would be having an abundance of free time on his hands and nowhere to direct his energy. The promise of a firearm wasn’t too shabby an idea, either.

Upon arriving at his destination, James delivered three solid knocks to the door before him and waited for a response.]

*It isn't very long before steps are audible from the other side of the door - and Treize pulls it open.*

Sgt. Doakes. It's a pleasure to meet you in person.

[Doakes takes a quick glance at his surroundings, then extends a hand towards Treize.]

Same here. Not like I had anything to do with my free time. So, what is it that I can help you with?

*Treize grips Doakes' hand firmly in a shake* Sergeant, I believe your skills as a detective may well prove very useful in this place. Though in a perfect world, one would never have to use them... this is not a perfect world, as I'm sure you know, and it is filled with imperfect people.

*He turns, gesturing for the man to follow him* Please, this way - you asked for a sidearm, correct? For the moment, it should be sufficient to keep yourself armed in the event that fighting breaks out.
