And the last thing anyone probably wanted to see when they woke up in a foreign place with moving scarecrows was a person 'dressed up' to look like Death himself.
The figure loomed over Dist's horrified self, probably around twelve or thirteen feet high, face completely hidden behind a creepy, if not somewhat goofy-looking skull-shaped mask.
Dist scrambled away from the scarecrow as he made a girlish squeal, then stopped and glanced upwards at the sound of the voice. He immediately spotted the giant floating thing over top of him.
It took the Reaper to recognize the other Reaper as truly being there. But when he did, he let out another shriek and crawled backwards, scooting his backside against the ground.
Shinigami couldn't say he hadn't been expecting that reaction. Outside of his own world, everyone seemed to react this way. Maybe it was the mask?
"Now, now~" he said, his voice level and somewhat amused. "No need to fret!! I assure you I'm no more frightening than the rest of this place." He considered the statement for a moment. "--Ah, I lied. I'm no more frightening as long as you're not a bad egg. ♥"
Dist came to a stop and stared at Shinigami for a moment, then frowned. He needed to calm down, to try and figure out what was going on. Clearly this had to be a part of the prank - and that costume was obviously large enough to hide both an individual and a fontech machine for flight. That was it - someone was in that cloak! "I-I assure you that I am not a bad egg! I am a rose and don't you forget it!"
Oh sweet Lorelei, no... Asch had managed to remove himself from Jade, and now... now... Gaaaah, he knew that scream from anywhere, having heard it more times than not in the seven years he had spent as a God General. He was half tempted to run in the completely opposite direction and pretend he hadn't heard it at all, but... well, it was Dist. The cockroach would find him eventually.
With a defeated sigh, Asch followed the direction of the scream, not surprised to see the fruity old man standing near a scarecrow and freaking out.
Dist stopped and glanced over at Asch. He immediately gave a start before quickly scrambling to his feet. He adjusted his glasses on his face as he looked over the other God-General and noted the general aliveness about him. "...Hoho. Asch... how surprising. Jade said you were dead."
"So I've been told," Asch replied, his voice a total deadpan. Well, at least he didn't need to ask from what point Dist was from. He let out a very put-upon sigh, folding his arms over his chest. "Count on a cockroach to be the only one of the God Generals to survive until the very end."
Dist's cheek twitched violently as he clenched his fists. "C-c-cockroach!? I'll have you know that I have the perseverance of a flower, not an insect! I survived based on my own ingenuity!"
Frederic had heard Dist screaming, and had broke into a jog to find out what was happening... He was currently thanking whatever luck he had when he had first arrived that the scarecrows hadn't moved. He would have probably have had a similar reaction. He kept his eyes on the scarecrow, watching to see if it was hostile or not, and finally he quickly approached him.
"It'll be all right! They're harmless!" Frederic had said, while thinking how they were MOSTLY harmless in his experience... When there weren't rocks to throw. When he reached him, he held out a hand to help the frightened man up. "Are you alright?"
Dist looked up at Frederic before reluctantly accepting the hand, using it to get to his feet. He had no idea who this person was, but he wasn't about to let them know how frightened he was. After all, he was not frightened! ...He had to admit this young man had such a delightful taste in fashion. "A-ah, o-of course. Of course I'm alright! As if I would be f-frightened by... by... I'm certainly quite alright!"
... The stutter was giving him away, but Frederic could see that the man didn't want him to pry about it if he was trying to hide it. Now that he saw him standing, he was quite... surprised by how the man looked. By his attire, he was certain that the man was definitely not from his time, and it was quite probable that he wasn't from his own world as well.
"I'm glad," He said with a polite smile. Dist's reaction had made his next question quite clear, but he still wished to be certain about it. "... Would I be correct to assume that you are new to this place?"
Dist straightened himself up and dusted off his uniform, trying to appear quite casual about it as he attempted to recover his dignity.
"...Y-yes, I must say that I am... somewhat unfamiliar with area," the fontechinican paused, then adjusted his glasses. "Particularly areas with... m-moving scarecrows. Tell me, what sort of fontech does it use?"
The Fonist was doing her usual ventures, silent, as she was, after Luke's disappearance, or return to their world, however many wanted to put it, it seemed kind of empty almost. She felt a bit sad, only seeing him for a short time

Dist did not notice Tear at first, as always rather inattentive to his surroundings - unless they were trying to kill him. For this reason, Tear was able to get quite close to Dist before he finally noticed her. He jumped slightly and turned to stare at the silent soldier, rather blankly at first before he recognized her as a member of Jade's gang - and not someone who was supposed to be dead, for once.
"Ah, it's-!" Dist paused, wracking his brain for the girl's name. He knew she was Van's little sister and regularly traveled with Jade, but her name was simply not one of the things he felt compelled to remember. ...Ah yes!
Dist grinned brightly and pointed at Tear's chest, pleased to have finally remembered her. "Melon Girl, of the Jade Gang."
Tear almost took a step back when he he pointed at her and stopped. She narrowed her eyes, the knives in her legs were not that far from her reach. She would get him without even trying. Nonetheless, she was taken back when he called her Melon Girl. She didn't exactly get what he meant by that, since she was quite innocent to begin with. She blinked a bit, though her stern expression remained.
"I don't believe that's my name," she mused towards him. He was still calling everyone that traveled with the Colonel his 'gang'? Well that was certainly amazing. Another God General, like the others weren't bad enough. Even though they did nothing, it was still kind of bothersome.
Dist waved his hand dismissively, as if brushing away her protest. "Yes, yes, well... I certainly know you. You're that girl that traveled with Jade - you, Arrow Princess, and Anise. If I recall, you were quite close to that Fabre replica. I can only imagine the chagrin that must have brought your dear brother~!"
The fontechnician then paused and tapped his chin. "...If you are here, does that mean Jade is here as well?"
Oops, meant to throw him at you last night. >>;;cursethescoreApril 3 2009, 16:55:21 UTC
It had taken awhile for him to recover from the the last time he had used his abilities, and he still wasn't feeling very well. Still, Ion suspected that a brief walk would do him some good, assuming he didn't run into anyone that would try to kill him. He found himself wishing that Arietta was here more often than not, even if he didn't want her to see him so ill.
When he heard the scream, he didn't really care at first, and fully intended to keep walking... but he paused anyway, frowning to himself. He swore he had heard that scream before...
Going against his better judgment, he followed the scream to it's source, a slow, amused smile working its way onto his face. Oh, of all the people... it seemed this place really didn't care who it pulled from the different worlds.
Ion waited until Dist finished screaming, before clearing his throat softly. "A pleasure to be able to see you again, Dist the Reaper."

"...Rose!" Dist snapped automatically, before he even saw who had addressed him. "Dist the Rose, you-!"
And that's when he stopped, gawking at the Fon Master. After a moment, he frowned. Well, he didn't have much reason to be surprised if Asch was alive, though it could be argued that Jade had just been mistaken in pronouncing Asch dead. Or just teasing him - who could ever take Jade seriously? He was so used to speaking lies that he no doubt even forgot what the truth truly was.
...Back to the 'Fon Master' before him. The question was, which one? Sync would certainly never dress like the Fon Master. It certainly wasn't the last one that Anise took in - he spoke far too intelligently to be that reject. So, that left... ...Oh, brother. As if he had the time or the inclination to keep the replicas apart - he made so many, and most of them were dead!
"Considering I should have died quite a few days ago now, I suppose that's a good thing," Ion replied smoothly, leaning heavily on his staff. Normally he would not allow himself such weakness before another person, but Dist had seen him drained after replications many a time. There was no sense in hiding the fact that he was feeling weak in front of him.
"And how many years after my death are you from, Reaper?" he continued, intentionally using his proper God General title, if only for the endless amusement it caused.
Dist grit his teeth and was about to retort angrily, then stopped. He certainly didn't remember any of the replicas being so cheeky, aside from Sync. While he would have expected such a mouth from the unruly Tempest, Sync would not dress as the Fon Master. He no doubt would have found the mere act to be revolting. And of the Fon Master replicas, the only one to ever function well enough to take the role was as meek as a kitten. He certainly wouldn't have the guts to purposely antagonist the fontechnician!
...Was it possible that this individual... was not a replica
