The Fonist was doing her usual ventures, silent, as she was, after Luke's disappearance, or return to their world, however many wanted to put it, it seemed kind of empty almost. She felt a bit sad, only seeing him for a short time
( ... )
Dist did not notice Tear at first, as always rather inattentive to his surroundings - unless they were trying to kill him. For this reason, Tear was able to get quite close to Dist before he finally noticed her. He jumped slightly and turned to stare at the silent soldier, rather blankly at first before he recognized her as a member of Jade's gang - and not someone who was supposed to be dead, for once.
"Ah, it's-!" Dist paused, wracking his brain for the girl's name. He knew she was Van's little sister and regularly traveled with Jade, but her name was simply not one of the things he felt compelled to remember. ...Ah yes!
Dist grinned brightly and pointed at Tear's chest, pleased to have finally remembered her. "Melon Girl, of the Jade Gang."
Tear almost took a step back when he he pointed at her and stopped. She narrowed her eyes, the knives in her legs were not that far from her reach. She would get him without even trying. Nonetheless, she was taken back when he called her Melon Girl. She didn't exactly get what he meant by that, since she was quite innocent to begin with. She blinked a bit, though her stern expression remained.
"I don't believe that's my name," she mused towards him. He was still calling everyone that traveled with the Colonel his 'gang'? Well that was certainly amazing. Another God General, like the others weren't bad enough. Even though they did nothing, it was still kind of bothersome.
Dist waved his hand dismissively, as if brushing away her protest. "Yes, yes, well... I certainly know you. You're that girl that traveled with Jade - you, Arrow Princess, and Anise. If I recall, you were quite close to that Fabre replica. I can only imagine the chagrin that must have brought your dear brother~!"
The fontechnician then paused and tapped his chin. "...If you are here, does that mean Jade is here as well?"
Well, she could tell that the God General was no different than when he was in Auldrant. She didn't expect much of a change from him, either. She sighed briefly with a hand to her forehead. More importantly, why did he bring up depressing things? Especially when they were about Luke. She wasn't exactly in the best shape after he left.
"That, I am uncertain of, but I am certain that there are many from Auldrant here. If the Colonel is here, then we will see him soon enough," she replied, keeping her guard still.
Dist seemed to brighten up at that. So it was true, then. It was only natural - Jade had to be around. There could not be a Jade gang without Jade! "Well, if he does, he had best stay out of my way. I don't have time for his nonsense."
Well, if it bothered him, then why was he asking? Tear never really understood the relationship between the Colonel and Dist the Reaper. It was a bit complicated on her terms. He seemed to brighten up, regardless, and she took note of that almost instantly.
"If that is what you want him to do, why do you seem a bit excited about it?" she mused, wondering where his loyalties lie now, that neither her Nii-san or Grand Maestro Mohs was here.
"Don't be ridiculous, I am not in the least bit excited about that ogre being here," Dist scoffed at the very idea. Just the same, Dist couldn't help but feel giddy at the prospect of seeing Jade again. "His mere presence turns this dream world in to a nightmare."
She wasn't getting anywhere with him really she wasn't. The woman's eyes focused on him once more, briefly, but honestly, he looked like he was lying. She didn't trust his words one bit. He DID sound excited, but whatever, she wasn't going to argue with him like a child.
"Honestly, I wonder," she sighed. Dist wasn't posing any threat at all. Not one bit. At least not now.
"Wonder all you like!" Dist retorted cheekily. Clearly, Tear inherited Jade's ability to irritate him - the fonist's attitude was like a disease that infected everyone. "Only a masochist would delight in the company of Jade the Necromancer!"
She was oddly calm about it, despite the fact that he was getting on her nerves. She had never actually spoken to Dist, but now that she did, it was quite... irritating. He was like Luke before his changes, in a way. She wasn't attempting to get on his nerves, it just happened.
"I don't believe that's true, either, yet you speak about him again and again, are you certain that you aren't making excuses to bring him up?" she mused briefly. So far, their conversation just fixed on the Colonel.
"E-excuses?" Dist repeated before he clenched his fists and shook them irritably. "Don't be ridiculous! I only asked his general location while maintaining a healthy level of indifference! As if I care whether or not that brute is in this world! In fact, I would prefer it if he was not!"
Tear didn't comment any further, only leaving it at that. Obviously, there was something going on with Dist. He would continue to say whatever he felt like saying, but Tear wasn't exactly going to believe all of it. She let out a breath.
"If you say so," she finished. IT didn't look like Dist was going to do anything rash at the moment.
"Excuse me?" Tear breathed out, almost fighting the urge not to twitch, "AS far as I am concerned, you are the one that sees it as such," she placed her hand on her forehead again. He was even worse than Luke.

But then, perhaps that was precisely the point. Would Jade not travel with those that possessed equally uncivilized behaviors as himself?
