Who: Namikaze Minato
Where: Espoir, field
Style: First
Status: VERY OPEN! COME AND BOTHER MINATO!

[Minato had found a spot in a field, and was starting to go through basic taijutsu maneuvers. It felt good to be outside in the crisp, spring air.

And it had been a while since he'd been able to just relax like this, letting his body go through the ( Read more... )

*For Kakashi to arrive only 10 minutes late is something of a miracle. But it's not every day he has the chance to spar with the Fourth Hokage. He lands a few feet away from Minato, knowing the Yondaime probably felt his presence long before he arrived, and just watches for a moment.

This is a little nostalgic.*

Kakashi-kun. [Minato greets his student with a smile, but doesn't stop his movements. The gleam in his eyes is mischievous, and really, it should be a warning for what happens next. In a flash of yellow light, the challenge begins.]

*That gleam is enough of a warning for Kakashi to pull up his hitai-ate, drawing out two kunais, one in each hand, bringing them up in a counter against an invisible force that should be coming towards his neck. From what he remembers about his teacher, usually the Yondaime's favorite move is a kunai to the throat after using Hiraishin -- the question is if his kunai will be able to meet Minato's fast enough -- or if Minato even chooses his usual tactic.*

[The Yondaime knows his own habits well, and knows that Kakashi also knows him just as much as another person can. Thus, it's not from the back with a kunai that he attacks, but from the front -- and from the back, too, with a brutal kick aimed towards the jounin's lower back. It's unclear which one is the real Minato.]

She saw the man's bright yellow hair before she saw anything else - it was attention-grabbing, for sure. Still, odd hair wasn't too out of place here, so she was just going to keep jogging right past him without a second thought.

Then Sakura saw the moves he was doing, and that made the girl stop right in her tracks to stare. This guy clearly knew what he was doing. There ... wasn't any harm in stopping to watch for a while, right?

Minato had felt her approach and then stop, settling some yards away to watch. Well, he hadn't expected an audience but it wasn't a bother.

Actually, something about her appearance niggled at a memory in his mind... He kept thinking about it, even as he whipped off his white, flame embroidered cloak to begin the more rigorous taijutsu movements. He added a shunshin jutsu to the mix, disappearing and reappearing in midst sharp jabs and kicks.

By this point, Kakashi had taken up residence under a tree with his usual book. He relaxed against the trunk as he flipped through the pages, occasionally glancing up to watch his teacher train.

After the sparring session they had before, Kakashi was amazed that Minato still had the energy to continue -- but the Yondaime was Hokage for a reason.

Kakashi'd gotten rather distracted by a certain passage in the book, but the moment he sensed Sakura's chakra, he looked up over the edge.

...oh right, he was supposed to meet her for training.

What time was it, again?

Of course, it was just before 9 AM, with Sakura on her way to the spot where she'd agreed to meet Kakashi. Still, it wasn't very far off, so she could afford a few minutes to watch the man practice.

And then he vanished. The girl ... well, she gaped. She'd seen people teleport before, but this... was it the same thing? Who was this guy?

[having a harem of guys wasn't nearly as exciting as it had initially sounded; therefore, she found herself seizing any and all opportunities to escape for a little while. besides, wandering around the village never failed to be interesting]

[...but just who is that blond-haired person over ther--]

[...well, there's no mistaking that face, is there; she's certainly seen it enough in her short life, what with it being carved into the side of a freaking mountain, lmfao. and even though kakashi told her that he was in this place, there's still something... distinctly odd about seeing someone you know is supposed to be dead]

[yeah, she'll just. be over here, watching carefully for the moment like a total creeper. this whole "living dead" thing never gets old]

[The Hokage pauses, tilting his head as his senses detect the presence of another person close by. The life force is moderately strong, trained -- like a shinobi, but decidedly non-hostile.

Perhaps it is another Konoha shinobi. There are a few, after all, that he hasn't met just yet. So he slows down his movements and cools down since the person seems content to wait on him and watch.

Then he turns around and sees it's a girl with an incredulous expression and long blonde hair - he's sure he's seen that hair style somewhere before...]

[she can't help but to... well, she almost flinches when he turns his gaze to her; it's not that she's scared or anything like that, but it's obviously quite... surprising to run into someone you never thought you'd be able to meet. she feels like she should say something--anything, really--but... what? how do you talk to someone as famous and as respected as the fourth hokage? it's not like talking to tsunade or anything; it was tedious, talking to the testy woman, but there was always something to say. jeez]

Ah... Y-Yondaime-sama....

[bows respectfully, still kind of... trying to think of something halfway intelligent to say, lmfao]

[ooc: SORRY FOR BEING SO LATE, but... oh, RL. Y so hectic. D:]

A dark haired boy is on his way past the field, but unlike other spectators Minato's had so far, he has nowhere important to be. When Danny sees what Minato's up to, his first reaction is a double-take, and his second is to stand and watch.

He has practically no idea of what exactly Minato's doing, but he knows that whatever it is, it's extremely impressive. No doubt in his mind that it's also just as effective for whatever Minato uses for, too.

Minato chooses that moment to do an impressive combo of moves, ones that have always challenged him a bit; it wouldn't do to get out of practice doing the harder but more damaging taijutsu maneuvers, only to falter in a real battle.

When he finishes, he breathes out slowly and starts a series of slower, more flowing moves to cool down. The he straightens and stretches, turning to the boy who's been staring at him for quite a while.

"Hello, there." The Yondaime smiles. "I haven't seen you around before. I'm Namikaze Minato. Who might you be?"

Cue for an even more impressed Danny, when he sees that new combo. After that, even though the cool down, his eyes are wide and mouth slightly open.

Only when Minato turns to him does Danny realize he's been staring. He closes his mouth with a 'click' and grins a little sheepishly. "Uh, sorry for staring and all... Nice to meet you. I'm Danny--Hey, how did you do all that?" No, he's not fighting the urge to tell him exactly how awesome he thought it was. Not at all. (He probably doesn't have to say anything, considering the admiring look he's givng Minato right now.)

Minato's friendly smile turns into a wide grin.

The boy's admiration is very plain to see despite his attempts to hide it, but the blond more than welcomes any person's appreciation for the shinobi arts.

"Nice to meet you, too, Danny-kun. What I was doing is called 'taijutsu.' The hand to hand form of combat of the shinobi arts. I think most of the people here just call it 'martial arts.'"

[Minato pauses when he feels a presence approach and turns when the young woman's words carry across the winds to him.]

Good afternoon, miss. [He greets her jovially, taking time to retie the hitai-ate on his head.]

[ooc: are you carrying your bows and arrows now?]

Don't worry, I wasn't disrupted.

[He waves her apology off, still smiling. Her being there is no bother. Besides, Minato is rather interested in the strange looking bow in her hands. Somehow, it seems very advanced.]

I'm Namikaze Minato. [His eyes flicker to her bow again.] Is archery your hobby?
