Where: Espoir, field
Style: First
Status: VERY OPEN! COME AND BOTHER MINATO!

[Minato had found a spot in a field, and was starting to go through basic taijutsu maneuvers. It felt good to be outside in the crisp, spring air.

And it had been a while since he'd been able to just relax like this, letting his body go through the ( Read more... )

[having a harem of guys wasn't nearly as exciting as it had initially sounded; therefore, she found herself seizing any and all opportunities to escape for a little while. besides, wandering around the village never failed to be interesting]

[...but just who is that blond-haired person over ther--]

[...well, there's no mistaking that face, is there; she's certainly seen it enough in her short life, what with it being carved into the side of a freaking mountain, lmfao. and even though kakashi told her that he was in this place, there's still something... distinctly odd about seeing someone you know is supposed to be dead]

[yeah, she'll just. be over here, watching carefully for the moment like a total creeper. this whole "living dead" thing never gets old]

[The Hokage pauses, tilting his head as his senses detect the presence of another person close by. The life force is moderately strong, trained -- like a shinobi, but decidedly non-hostile.

Perhaps it is another Konoha shinobi. There are a few, after all, that he hasn't met just yet. So he slows down his movements and cools down since the person seems content to wait on him and watch.

Then he turns around and sees it's a girl with an incredulous expression and long blonde hair - he's sure he's seen that hair style somewhere before...]

[she can't help but to... well, she almost flinches when he turns his gaze to her; it's not that she's scared or anything like that, but it's obviously quite... surprising to run into someone you never thought you'd be able to meet. she feels like she should say something--anything, really--but... what? how do you talk to someone as famous and as respected as the fourth hokage? it's not like talking to tsunade or anything; it was tedious, talking to the testy woman, but there was always something to say. jeez]

Ah... Y-Yondaime-sama....

[bows respectfully, still kind of... trying to think of something halfway intelligent to say, lmfao]

[ooc: SORRY FOR BEING SO LATE, but... oh, RL. Y so hectic. D:]

[He resists the urge to scratch the back of his head, feeling awkward from her own show of awkwardness. She must be one of the younger generation shinobi, the ones who grew up on his so-called legend, he thinks, when she addresses him by this title and respectfully bows.

And then he suddenly remembers Kakashi telling him about a young kunoichi, Yamanaka Inoichi's daughter. Minato chuckles, thinking they look very much alike. Though she also resembles that Akatsuki member, Deidara.]

Aa, You must be Yamanaka Ino. It's a pleasure to meet you. [He smiles congenially, hoping to set her at ease.]

[ooc: XD no worries. RL is a hassle for us all.]

[she straightens back up, blinking in surprise... and perhaps blushing the slightest bit, but only because he's a total legend and he knows her name. kakashi-sensei more than likely told him, of course, but it's still kind of... well, kind of cool]

...That's me! [gives him a smile in return, still feeling kind of awkward; however, she'll just try to fake her way through it. it's what she does, man] It's... it's truly an honor to meet you, Yondaime-sama.

[He smiles softly at her but wishes his presence didn't unsettle her so much. Kakashi had described her as a rather energetic, confident young woman after all.]

And it's a pleasure to meet you, too, Ino-chan. Ah, is it alright for me to address you like that? I apologize if I seem overly familiar.

[It's just that, well, he's getting kind of tired of all the formality and distance between him and his shinobi. Even Kakashi, the closest person to him in Somarium treats him like, well -- a Hokage. He resists an urge to sigh.]

Of course, Yondaime-sama! It's fine with me.

[well, talking with him isn't nearly as bad as it had initially seemed. maybe it's because he doesn't seem nearly as... inapproachable as she thought he would be? there's still that level of separation, though, because hello there, o legendary hero of our village. but it's just as easy to talk to him as it is to talk to anyone else, really; it might even be easier than talking to tsunade. she doesn't get the feeling that he's about to completely snap at any moment, after all]

[He smiles his thanks.]

So, how have you been settling in Somarium? I've met Neji-kun, and I've heard that one of your teammates, Nara Shikamaru, and teacher, Sarutobi Asuma, are here as well, though I haven't had a chance to meet them.

[His smile almost dims when he considers the fact that almost an entire cell is here, meaning only one member of their original team is alive in Konoha -- the one Kakashi died for. His son's peers really shouldn't be here, he thinks.]

[it's hard to hide any sort of change in expression from this girl; she may not call him out on it, but she can't help but inwardly wonder about the reasons behind it]

I'm doing fine, sir. This place isn't too bad, really; I mean, it's not home, but at least it's not a total dump.

And Asuma-sensei will probably pop up soon, but Shikamaru... who knows. He's probably... preoccupied. [watching clouds, she thinks, but she won't say it; it might just make him look bad, and, as mean as she can be, she's not going to trash her teammate]

Yes, except for a few skirmishes I've had to intervene in, this is a remarkably peaceful place considering all the different people from different worlds here.

[He's glad to hear that she's doing well, along with her team.]

Do you have any plans as to what you're going to do in Somarium? Or are you just going to pass time according to what suits your fancy?

[Minato asks, genuinely curious. He's never really thought about what you do in Heaven. Without missions - it's kind of strange.]

[...well, she certainly hasn't thought about that, either. she's just been... doing nothing, really, save for training, socializing, and bossing her teammate around and trying to ignore the fact that she's somewhere she would rather not be, and that--in her mind, at least--she's left her friends and family to face Pein without her, which is truly a terrible thing. however, she can't just say, "well, i have no clue," because how bad will that look?]

...I, um... well, there's always... training? And I've been meaning to set up a greenhouse or something, like the one my family had back in Konoha; I mean, just because I'm here doesn't mean I can just... slack off. Daddy wouldn't really... like that....

[He laughs, thinking it precious that she's still concerned with what her father thinks, even in the afterlife. Minato imagines she was either Daddy's little girl, or that her father had been wrapped around her finger.]

That's a good idea. A greenhouse or flowershop would be an ideal fit with the other shops around. You might even want to ask some of the cafes or restaurants if they have any specialty spices they need grown.

[isn't quite sure what was so funny, but you know what? laughter is better than no laughter. besides, that was an awesome idea right thar]

You know, I might just do that! ...Once I get Shikamaru to find a greenhouse for me, at least.

[oh wait] Oh! But you know, sir, Neji told me about something else you two had talked about. A... shop or something?

wind_upon_waves March 28 2009, 23:57:41 UTC
Ah yes, the shop. Well... [He grins a bit sheepishly.] Since things in Espoir and around are falling apart, I thought it might be worthwhile to make a mission shop, where people can request repairs or errands. It would give us something to do and something familiar, like Konoha. But, I'm not sure if it's going to happen. You see, I assigned the creation of it to Kakashi... [And well, his habit of being late...]
