Hatori arrived promptly. This was hardly a surprise though since he always arrived at places early or right on time. Being late simply wasn't like him. He disliked keeping people waiting on him. Part of that came from his childhood when his father would punish him for being the slightest bit late to anything.
Tonight he was dressed in one of his better suits. Really that was all he had so he'd just gone with color. Black this time. Then again since he really only had bland colors in his closet it wasn't like the options were endless.
Politely, he knocked on her door as he glanced at his appearance in the mirror that was in the hallway. Hm. He should get his hair cut soon...
Aya was quick to answer the door when she heard the knock, tucking a loose piece of hair behind her ear as she pulled the door open with a smile.
"Hi! Has it been a good day? I'm ready now-- I just need my shoes." He looked nice. Black was always classy and it complimented his features. With her shoes ready at the door, she slipped them on, picked up her purse and keys from the entry table, and stepped outside to lock the door.
Hatori watched her, stepping back to let her out the door. He waited until she was standing up again before offering her his arm. It was the polite thing to do.
"You look nice," he noted, complimenting her appearance. And he meant it too. She looked good in her outfit and the smile lit up her face. It was a nice thing to see really.
And he was a perfect gentleman, too. Waiting patiently, offering the arm, complimenting her appearance-- and the funny thing was, she'd been mostly teasing in making it sound like a romantic date the other night. She'd just really wanted to spend time with him. Then the agreement was there and in getting ready she'd felt a certain internal pressure to dress up and look nice. And then there he was dressed up too and treating it like a romantic outing. Funny how that had happened. But she couldn't say she was sorry about it, either.
With a flutter of nerves in her stomach (oh dear, she thought, because she recognized that feeling too well), Aya carefully took the offered arm.
"Thank you. So do you-- very sharp." Sure, his bangs were long, but Aya liked it. Although it would be nice to see his eyes more clearly.
"There are several places with good food nearby. What are you in the mood for?"
