That commute time is insane! Mine is 15 minutes by bus. I know it is not easy to change jobs or apartments, but 2.5 hours is just too damn much!
I try to devote 15 minutes every day to my fic. It is a longass fic that will take 5 years to write and I cannot share a word until it is done (am on year 3!). But it is my biggest joy right now. I get your aversion to screens when you are exhausted. Maybe try handwriting it first and then editing on the weekends on the computer?
I hope you find something to lift your spirits up a bit and make every day count. I took up singing, dancing and writing. I do not do all every day, of course. But it all helps.

Tell me about it. I told myself in my first year, that I would take it year by year but then the pandemic hit and I was able to WFH for almost 2.5 years of that. Now that I'm back fully face to face, I'm back to rethinking this entire position. Yes, it's not hard since I'm already a senior manager (I work in Education management at a K-12+uni) and I was happy at first because I love K-12...but they have me working on linkages with college and it S U C K S. I'm working on planning an activity of some kind every weekend so I can have something to look forward to.
