U didn't liek the ending of Harry Potter?? ):
Unless this was because you found Lupin's death to be unacceptable (but slightly less unacceptable than his marriage to Tonks) I do not understand. Splain!!

well, in our opinion, the universe created by JKR was amazing, and the build up of the core characters was fantastic! but then...well, I won't sat i didn't devour each volume voraciously (cuz i did), but i will say after book 5 and onwards, my satisfaction after reading each novel was greatly diminished.

ahh, i suppose i could enumerate on numerous reasons why this was so, but let me suffice to say I was simply disappointed by the way Harry's peer friends were Not Good Friends, Harry's adult friends were Not Good Role-Models, and Harry's other adults were Not Good Mentors. seems like every personal relationship let him down in the end, and frankly i found it depressing and even a bit unbelievable.

buwahahah, and i like to believe the only possible explanation for the out-of-left-field that was Lupin x Tonks is that she was Sirius under polyjuice. X)

Ah, but she didn't need polyjoice, my dear. She could shape-shift, remember? She could look like whoever she wanted and I highly suspect that, come evenin', she really wanted to look like Sirius. I mean, even Snape remarked that her Patronus had changed, but not into what... a dog, perhaps? I think JKR possibly even intended this. Possibly.

As to the other stuff, I thought that was believable, and I think it was JKRs way of making HP stand on his own (though everyone sort of came through for him in the end) and coming to the realization that adults aren't flawless or omnicient either. But, obviously, everyone is going to read their own experience into the books and not everyone is going to like them.

LOL no, i meant sirius was taking polyjuice potion to look like tonks, haha, and wanted Lupin's hand in marriage. that's the real reason "she" couldn't shape shift while moping over Lupin; it was sirius undercover!!! but i'm 98% kidding. XD i really like Tonks; i just feel she had about as much foreshadowing of her sudden interest in a guy a decade+ older than her with endless emotional baggage as Harry did with his sudden interest in Ginny.<--bleeargh

it wasn't believable to me. none of my close friends would ever treat me half as awful as the way Ron treated Harry, and lovable Lupin, whom I'd adored in previous books, was an irresponsible, petulant ass in volume 7. was hermione even in book seven? I don't recall her doing much remarkable. I don't know. the series just lost some of its charm for me as it carried on. like, was it really necessary for EVERY SINGLE Slytherin at Hogwarts to be an irredeemable jerk or just plain pathetic (sorry Draco). and why didn't Hogwarts kids learn basic math or literature? dunt need no ( ... )

Referring to the book or the movie? And the whole thing, or just one part (or more)? At the time I'd finished the book series, I thought the whole thing was just made of win. Looking back, I do think the ending could have been better (I'll even leave the whole Tonks thing alone as long as they can be in a threesome with Sirius. Personally, I don't think I really mind her.

I haven't seen any of the movies past "Goblet of Fire". When I read about the "incident" regarding Sirius and the Veil (and bawled my friggin' eyes out), I refused to see the movie. I mean, just imagine: if just reading it produced that kind of reaction, could you imagine me watching it? On the big screen?! And seeing as how things only seemed to go downhill after book 5, I simply refused to see the rest of the movies period. Maybe my curiosity will get the best of me one day, I'll just go rent them and watch somewhere.

Why do I get the feeling I've gotten off topic?

HTML, I has it! Go me!

referring to the books. just sort of the resolution of it all. i definitely still love the Harry Potter universe and all, it just didn't really live up to my expectations. not that my expectations are what things should be or anything, but simply...I didn't feel the same buoyant excitement with the last two volumes that I did with the first four and a half. (i have my issues with book 5, but for the most part still really enjoyed that one, too.) the last two books just had this slapped-together feel, like JKR was writing them because the world would kill her if she didn't, not because she was really feeling it like in the beginning. :( haha, yeah, tonks is certainly a likable character! her thing with Lupin was just so WTF?!? though!

I like the movies! can't say my fangirl heart wouldn't have chosen a more attractive actor to play Sirius, lol, but otherwise, very enjoyable. Ohh, you should watch them, even if they make you tear up! X') if anything, they have pretty cool special effects and set design.<--i get really excited ( ... )
