ps. Hey all you Hakkai fans out there! What kind of Hakkai pictures do you like? Sultry? Scary? Smiley? I'm in the mood to draw him. >:d

All of these are good, but I guess if I had to pick, it would be either sultry or smiling, but really scary.

LOL don't press harder with an H pencil, because the line won't get darker, it'll just carve your paper. X) my primary method of drawing is the under-over method, which means I draw a loose gesture drawing to get the basic pose down, then I refine the body shape and erase/replace an oval head with a V-shaped jaw, a cylinder arm with elbows and biceps and triceps etc. Then, once the drawing is pretty much done in pencil, it is this still quite scribbly, very faint figure. Next I go over it in pen, refining the lines and making it much less sketchy. Once the pen is dry, I will often erase out the 8H, but because it's so light, I really don't have to. In theory I could do this with a softer pencil, but softer pencils are more likely to stain the paper, smudge, and their darkness obscures the image when I draw a part multiple times in nearly the same spot to try and figure out how it looks best. But you're right, if I were intending to do a pencil drawing, not a drawing to be inked, I wouldn't have much use for an 8H ( ... )

haha scribbles = good! X3 I'll have to check that vid out! I recently downloaded a screen capture movie maker thing courtesy of sarubaby so i may soon make a movie of my next color project. :d

definitely! why do they even make the other kind?? X) tooth is good for painting, but I prefer smooth for pencils and markers. although I agree that a fine parchment and ink (I best like sepia, black, and green<--blame Harry Potter for that one, lol And I bought some of each color ink in Rome) is somehow just exquisite. ooohhhhhhhhhhkay, you want to oogle some fine papers? check out www.orientalartsupply.com and www.paper-source.com. that stuff is QUALITY, trust me. ♥

Scary, but with domestic accessories ... looking hot and scary but holding a tray of cookies or something!

Or hot and protective and undressed, with a sleeping Gojyo nearby.
