Whoo! Yaoi-con is coming up! So that means I really gotta start finish my cosplay stuff! Luckily, I've been in productive mood this month. ((and yes, i will definitely finish all the hijack requests, don't worry!)) I have only ever done Seiten Taisei Goku cosplay, and I've been wanting to do normal Goku, too. So I finally made a diadem. Here are ( Read more... )

Goku's Limiter rocks, and your hair's going to look amazingly like goku's. *jealous* I wanna see final pics.

BTW Hakuryuu is going to seriously kick ass too.

::crosses fingers:: i reeeeaaally hope hakuryuu turns out how i'm envisioning him in my head. XD

Well the limiter does look awesome. Way better then I can do. I've always wanted to cosplay as Goku, but my hairs to long -- and it's blonde -- Ugh.

But yeah from the looks of Hakuryuu I'm sure he's going to turn out great. You're going into some great detail - more then most I've seen - so I'm sure he's going to rock.

How long has all of this taken you?

i started making hakuryuu nearly two years ago, but I didn't really work on him during the school year, and i gave up on him a few times. However! i am determined to finish him now. >:d the wire skeleton took many many many hours to do, and wire sculpting really hurts your hands after a while. D: the rest of him should go much faster. My blueprints i made for jeep are yellowed with age! lol

the wig took about a two weeks or so to make. soli and i originally took about 8 months last year to make the four Saiyuki costumes & props we have, and since then we've been making add ons, like my wig, and hakuryuu. we are currently working on making special versions of our Sanzo and Seiten Taisei costumes for yaoicon. ;D it's fun to have a long term side project during all the school work and social life, etc. =D

sankyuu~! ^ヮ^ jeep is slowly but surely coming along. I've bullied a friend of mine into lending me his drill, so I should get his claws done tomorrow. :d

totally! soli & i will take lots of pictures of ourselves as Sanzo and Goku/Seiten Taisei Goku, eyesofshinigami as Hakkai/youkai!Hakkai, Jeep, jibii dressed as Koumyou/Sanzo molesting me as Goku/Ukoku, and anyone else who catches our eye. :D hmm, maybe we can find a tall, thin girl willing to dress up/fit in our brother's Gojyo costume and take pictures with us, too? lol hopefully there will be some good Gojyos to perv on at ycon. ::leer::

booo, i know you live far, far away, but i wish you'd come to cali for ycon!

Nice! (and yay, more Saiyuki cosplayers at Y-con :) )

I'm still trying to figure out how to get Hakuryu to stay on my shoulder for my costume. Probably going to use part of a wire hanger and a whole lot of velcro. :D

im not sure if you saw my response last time cuz i took a while, but as far as the Saiyuki panel goes, i think it's on Saturday, but I'm not sure. when we get there, the schedule in our ycon packets should say exactly when and where. :3

eeeeee!! more hakuryuu = l♥ve! the can hump frolic together! LOLZ hmm, i am the MacGyver of the 21st century. maybe i can help you come up with an idea to keep that dragon on your shoulder. first of all, is he soft, like a plushie? stiffer or floppier? if you stuck his butt on a horizontal bar, would he fall backwards, forwards, or hang? how heavy is he? ooh, OOH got any pictures of him?? :3 iono if i can be of any use, but i still wanna see him! ^^;;;

Dragon luv cleo3930 October 9 2007, 11:07:59 UTC
I'll have to get a pic of him up later.

It's a plush, but has a wire support going from his head down through his tail (which curves around to the left.) The wings are most floppy, but have wire supports along the "arm" part of the wing to hold them upright. His feet extend about an inch below the lowest point on his tail. As for the "stuck his butt on a horizontal bar" thing, he falls forward.

So far, I've only attached his feet to my sash with velcro. Right now, I'm leaning towards attaching his tail somehow as well; maybe his right wing too to help spread that out behind my head.

hmmm. maybe you could take a needle and white thread or clear fishing wire and stitch a little string loop on the underside of his tail and/or neck. then you could stitch an eyelet hook onto your shoulder sash and assuming most of his weight is kept on with the velcro, the hook on bits would attatch for placement and stability. Oo;;

You're limiter looks really great and I think that (so far atleast) your Hakuryuu looks like it's going to turn out to be one of the best I've ever seen, putting a squeaky box inside is a really cute idea too. I'd really like to see him when he's finished.

thank you very much! i can get a little over obsessive with details, lol, ((i'm planning on designing Jeep's eyelids in such a way that they can be manually opened or closed!<--for example ¬.¬;;;;;;)) but hopefully it will all work out. i'll be sure to keep you updated on his progress! ♥

I guess obsessing is what makes your products come out so good, but hopefully it doesn't stress you too much. Seriously though, you could probably get into the prop making business for movies or broadway if you wanted to. I'm excited to see how Hakuryuu turns out.

::dies of happy:: it's awesome that you'd say that, cuz I am. XD im a visual communications major in the hopes that when i graduate, i can work on special effects and post production work for film. my study program is geared more towards computer special effects and such, but i want to do physical effects, too. prop making business, unfortunately, is mostly geared toward normal stuff, like sitcom sets and interior design, but maybe i'll be able to do some professional fantasy-genre props one day for real. *__* like, working on Lord of the Rings type movies is my ultimate fantasy... hehe. and no way, the only thing that stresses me about projects is the fear i wont have enough time or money to see them through.

The limiter looks great! The wig looks right too and you look wonderfull! Hakuryuu is going to be pretty awaesome as well. And BTW, your icon is wonderful. I fell in love with that particular version of Goku in my teens and never got over him!

heheh thank you! soli made the icon because she thought that Goku was adorably hilarious, what with his eyebrows and sideburns and such. XD i love how earnest and sweet he appears. eeeuuah ^///^ thank you much for the praise as well! i will continue to work hard! ::strikes a pose of determination::
