ok i went to the petition, it says UPN. UPN doesn't exist anymore. could this be from before the merger? there was a rumor before the WB & UPN merged that VM was going to be cxed. however, VM is on the CW now, the name of the new network that combined UPN & the WB.

the cwthat article is definitely recent, but i'm thinking the petition is not. they've been talking about her doing a summer internship w/the FBI perhaps they just feel like the college thing is stagnant? it's been done before. they did it with buffy, a lot of shows like that where the characters started out in hs...perhaps they just want to make it more interesting? the hearst thing is great but isn't it just an extention of hs? vm is so much smarter than even her professors, perhaps she's just going to jump forward and skip some stuff ( ... )

Yeah, the petition is old. green_queen linked to it so I assume she thinks it will be utilized in some way for the current situation, but I don't really know ( ... )

i didn't see the first link so i just read it. i don't like the idea of it being 4 years in the future and none of the cast besides bell being on it!!!! :( francis capra (weevil) and enrico colantoni are two of my favourites on the show ( ... )

It's not that onnly Veronica would be in a reformatted VM, it's that no one else is confirmed yet. I agree that an all-new cast would be a really, really bad move. We at least new a few of the old cast (such as Logan Echolls - maybe they haven't seen each other in 4 years, they're both in other relationships, and they get to snark and pine again. Woe).

Is GG definitely gone next year? Seems a bad move on CW's part, because you're right. What identity do they have if all the good drama shows go?

The first 5 or so episodes of GG this season were painful to watch. Sometimes the show still seems awkward, but overall I much rather have it in this incarnation than be gone. Though your idea about a TV movie is interesting.

I agree that the pregnancy is boring. I miss Paris. :( She needs a spin-off.

How do you think they will end this season, if it's the end of the series?

I was very saddened to hear this earlier today. I'm not sure how I feel about the time warp idea for the new season. Although it would be in good company, there's been rumors that One Tree Hill would do something similar to skip their college years. I just don't know how well it would work, especially if they wind up tossing most of the cast in the process. I'd almost rather see Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell team up on a new project than see them do something too drastic with this series. I give CW credit for giving them a fighting chance, they haven't messed with the schedule too much and gave them a pretty nice timeslot post-GG. It's a shame that more people can't get into it.

Very good points. I am okay with the reformat (as explained above) it it fits with Rob Thomas' vision and he feels he can do something creative with it. Otherwise, yeah, let's not beat the proverbial dead horse.
