The rate at which I am skipping classes is alarming. Today I skipped my Geo lecture, went to my BFA classes (a given), went to my Geo lab, am skipping my History lecture and am going to attend the History seminar, at the least. Off to Victoria for a few days, back on my birthday. Goodbye summer, goodbye long work weeks, goodbye Granville Island! Goodbye Carousel and temping, goodbye beaches and BBQs (I hardly knew ye...) Goodbye (for now), incessant phone calls and goodbye chest pains. Here's hoping this is a great weekend.

It's hard for me to grasp that summer is almost over - when the hell did that happen? My birthday in 5 days? Victoria in 2? School in 6? What a blur this summer has been. This morning I checked my email, read the only message in my inbox, and almost cried. Even though I didn't get the Trek scholarship, I have been given a $1500 scholarship. I will have to fight my way through every year of tuition, but this year just got so much easier for me.

...and if by some crafty trick of the universe to keep my spirit from getting too strong, I'm now completely unable to sleep. Fuck you, world!

How simple things become gifts: today I had anticipated working a shift at Arts Club closely followed by the show at Carousel. Instead, my phone line at Arts Club went down and since we were overstaffed for the day, I got released to go home. I cooked a full meal, took a two hour nap, and have time to spare to get back to work for tonight.
