50 confirmed dead in Victorian bushfire disaster. Further casualtie expected.
In what is considered to be Victoria's worst bushfires (and natural disaster) since the Ash Wednesday fires in 1983 (in which 47 people in Victoria died), 50 people are confirmed dead. Mostly feet things.
I spent last Thursday and Saturday standing on my feet (what else?) for 8 hours straight. A photographer and Alaskan crab fisherman, Corey Arnold is working on a life-long project titled "Fish-work", which is a portrait of the modern commercial fisherman. Six years of his life have been spent photographing the crab fisherman in the Bering Sea, and grants will see him working to photograph fisherman from Norway to Alaska to Russia.
