Name: Katie! Age: 19 Where: North Carolina. When did you become interested in war/Pacific/hot men: Hot men? Since birth, pretty much. But my love of war (that's a weird thing to say, isn't it?) started about two years ago, when I noticed how nerdy hot Andrew Lee Potts was and decided I wanted to watch his filmography and I saw 'Band of Brothers' on there. And I always wanted to watch it, ever since I caught the tail end of the last episode once when I was younger (I SAW GRANT GET SHOT IN THE HEAD. IT STUCK WITH ME. AS A LITTLE KID, IT WOULD STICK WITH YOU, TOO) and decided I had to see it from the very beginning. So I dl'ed the first two episodes one night, sat in bed and watched them and CRIED MY EYES OUT. So brilliant. And after that I was totally hooked

What is your favorite scene/line/eyefuck from the show? Describe in vivid detail. I just watched episode seven so that is what is the clearest in my mind, so I have to say that my favorite scene is probably, weirdly, when Sledge, Snafu, Leyden & Burgin are sent to clear the bunker but Sledge is like "GUYS, THERE ARE STILL JAPS IN THERE." And he's totally right and when they get the Japanese out, it's just a massacre. I don't like the blood in it or anything, but I like that Sledge was: a, really that awesome and b, that trusted by Snafu and Burgin. I'm sure it took a lot of balls to slide right up to that bunker when someone you've been with for two months swears up and down the enemy is still in it and still have the balls to fire into it. Damn. That whole scene is just so intense. Post your favorite gif/picture/ode.

When did you become interested in war/Pacific/hot men:Um, interest in the war started somewhere through my BA after I got burned out on Classics and decided to move on to modern Italy. My interest in the Pacific came some time right around the airing on the first episode when I heard they were using Sledge’s memoir as a basis. Hot men, well, that’s always been there.
Who's your favorite character and what are his best 'assets':I honestly love Snafu. I have since I only knew him as a name in a book. Like everyone else I worship the ground Andrew Haldane walks on, Burgie and all of Team Leckie makes me happy, and I ADORE Lena.
What other fandoms are you interested in? Because loving just one thing can be boring, I guess. Band of Brothers, Generation Kill, Bandom, Tolkien, etc etc
What are your other hobbies?I read far too much, I write a lot, and, um, I make earrings?

Name: Nat. Age: 24. Where: Australia. When did you become interested in war/Pacific/hot men: LOL. Okay, in WWII in general, I became interested around Dec '09 with INGLORIOUS BASTERDS. Then my husband said, 'if you were interested in that sort of thing, you should watch Band of Brothers. It's even more bromantic.' SURE, OK. And, I admit, I'm horrible with names and faces so the first viewing of BoB was just a massive info dump and blur of faces. A GLOURIOUS BLUR, BUT A BLUR NONETHELESS. The viewings following (many to be had), the hotness of the men made themselves more and more apparent.
BUT THIS IS ABOUT THE PACIFIC. ANYWAY, after BoB, I learned that The Pacific was coming out. Again, same problem with the info dump and the blur of faces (I'm really, terribly bad at names/faces whether onscreen or IRL) - BUT NOW, A YEAR LATER, I STILL BECOME GIDDY AND EXCITED WHEN EXPOSED TO RUNNER THE PACIFIC FOR TOO LONG 8|. Who's your favorite character and what are his best 'assets': RUNNER. OH GOD. When I first saw him, I only knew him as Old

HELL YEAH. I love that Runner has such a solid following. Understandable though 8). And he was! In Leckie's words:
That was the thing about Runner: those strong, phenomenally developed legs. He had been a sprint man in prep school-a good one, as I learned later-and the practice had left its mark in those bulging calves.

When did you become interested in war/Pacific/hot men:I've been interested in history, particularly 20th-century history, for as long as I can remember. The past fascinated me as a kid and it still does now; the world wars get covered a lot in British primary school history classes, and I recall falling head-over-heels in love with fighter planes of the period after my grandparents took me on a trip to the RAF museum. I'm fascinated by war in general, and I've got a particular love for the aesthetics and styles of the 40s; don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the strides we've made in technology, medicine and civil rights, but I do sometimes feel like I was born in the wrong decade

Almost completely open. It's mostly just memes and fandom stuff, with the occasional sharing of interesting links or grumbling about my everyday life. I try to keep the latter to a minimum, though; I prefer to keep myself to myself, if I can help it.
Three random facts about you GO!
1. I am one of fandom's token blokes. I take it as granted that everybody assumes everyone else is female on LJ - I know I do - but I just felt I should probably point that out. 2. I have a bad habit of impulse-buying hats. 3. I'm afraid of butterflies. Not seriously phobic - I don't mind them when I'm outdoors, and it's not like I freak out just at a picture of a butterfly - but I can't stand being in the same room as one. Something about their horrible fuzzy bodies and papery wings makes my skin crawl.

What the hell. How did I miss that ass? Hillbilly is also cool because of this.

So you're one of these elusive men that we keep hearing about? ;)
I love that scene so goddamn much. I warmed to Hillbilly because he's just so calm and level-headed; he's a total badass but in a really matter-of-fact way, like it's all just part of the job. (Which it is, mind you, but you know what I mean.)
And, y'know, he's hot. I'm not going to pretend that wasn't a contributing factor.
And yes, I know! A MAN. ON LJ. THE HORROR. Don't worry, I'm house-trained.
