Ick it's been a crappy couple days. Yesterday was the worst day I've had in a very long time.
While planning our trip to Fargo next month, Ryan and I saw that Radio Shack was selling these cheap-o radio-based walkie-talkies for $5 a pop that we could use for communication between the cars. The closest Shack that sold them was 10 miles east in Beaverton and after driving all the way there, they didn't have any. rrr. I'm an idiot, I should have called ahead to make sure they had some. Defeated, we drove home. On the way, some stupid kid on his cell cut me off on the road and I had to swerve pretty hard. Must have scared the crap out of everyone else on the road. What a moron. RRR. If anyone needs a signature to get a "Ban Cell Phones On All Roads" law passed, come to me first. I will sign it proudly and even suggest stiff fines ($300+) for breaking such a law.
When we got home, Ryan and I worked on adding more LEDs to our Xboxes. Tinkering with that thing is one of my favorite hobbies since it's cheap to do and can teach a lot about electronics. What's more is that the end result is wonderfully artistic and cool. I forgot that I had just painted my Xbox the night before and so when I went to work on it, all the paint had smeared from being stacked with my brother's Xbox. I have to redo the paint. nrrr.. Plus, not all the LEDs that I added worked so I have a lot of work to do. Ugh.
On our way home from visiting my sister's last night, I noticed that my clutch lunged when I pushed the pedal. I ignored it until the car simply died on the road and we coasted (thankfully) into a vacant parking lot. When it died, there was a familiar electrical sparking noise which I remembered
from previous adventures was a spark plug wire falling off the power coil. Sure enough, that was what was wrong. We hooked it back up and got back on the road but it happened again and again. We looked at the engine and noticed that it sunk on one end. The engine had become de-seated! We tried to be as nice to the car as possible to get us home. Now that it's here, it's one more problem for me to fix. It could be expensive too, engine struts are $60. :: sigh :: I bet it happened when I swerved to miss that kid on the road earlier...
Then this morning, my fan's remote control broke (No other way to control it, darnn future tech crap). 100 degrees out there and my room's ceiling fan is out of commission. What timing :: pulls hair out :: I guess that's first on the To-Fix list.
What next?
