Yesterday I was out with my sister and Franko at a CCA ex-coworker's birthday bash. It was real low key and a little intimidating since I barely knew anyone there outside of a couple good friends from CCA who I actually really got along with. I'm not a drinker at all, I occasionally have one drink (Once every couple months) but at the party I had 4...
I've never been that tipsy. Ever. It was hysterical. This won't make me a raging alcoholic (To the dismay of corrupting CCA buddies like Sarah) but it was interesting to experience what it was like. I guess there are several kinds of drunk people: People who get angry, sleepy, giggly, talkative, overly-social, hyper and others. I think I'm the giggly kind, which is good to know.
While we were at the party, several of us began brainstorming about my sister's 30th birthday which is coming up at the end of August. Everyone decided we need to road trip to Vegas for a few days. Sounds good, but it'll be a crammed few weeks, I spec. My brother wants me to go with him back to Fargo when he returns for college the second week of August. I'd hang out for a couple weeks then return home in my own car. Val's birthday party in Vegas would be right after that at the end of August. Then in mid-September, Jaci wants to go to Seattle for a weekend to celebrate our birthdays.
These three road trips could be horribly expensive and I'm beginning to run low on savings. It seems that I am the bank among my friends and family, they all constantly ask to borrow money from me because they know I'm not hurting for cash. I'm not in financial disparity because I don't spend out the ying-yang. Each road trip will cost an estimated $300+ and I no doubt will make someone mad if I don't choose to go on their trip because I, the guy who always seems to have some extra cash, am using the "I'm too broke" excuse to back out. I'd really like to go on all three but unless I can work something out to be hyper thrifty, I'll only be able to do the cheapest one: Seattle with Jaci in September.
But the trips sound like a blast though! For the trip to Fargo with my brother, we're going as a convoy of four vehicles and we're all buying CB radios to chatter along the way. Buying CBs is way cheaper than getting walkie talkies or cellphone go-betweens. And Vegas? Heck yea! Seattle with Jaci? I've always wanted to drag her to a Mariner's game.
Now I just need to figure out how to afford it...
