Sharing muzak...

Thanks, Gord, for sharing this piece playing now. Client sound like they ROCK. Guh. Hot chicks singing tough stuff. Purrr.

Here's my stuff:

Räven (the Fox) by Hedningarna. Finnish-Swedish folk music, sung in Swedish except for the last part which is a Finnish invocation for raising sexual desire. My translation--sorry, my Swedish is a bit dodgy ( Read more... )

Thanks. It's interesting that, judging by the lyrics of that first song, Swedish/Finnish folklore seems to have something in common with that of Japan and their legends of the kitsune.

Might do, yeah. I'm fascinated by the kitsune. This song was written by a Swedish bloke so it's probably more to do with Viking mythology than the Finnish one, even though we've got our share of cunning fox tales and so on.

Glad you like! Siouxsie does kick arse. And so do Hedningarna:).

I've got their other song, an ancient Finnish spell-poem/rune/runo of the power of the Female up here:

Täss'on Nainen... I heartily recommend you check out that LJ post:).

Oooooh - thanks! (And ref. the comments about your friend calling the wind, one year I made a rather impassioned complaint about the "piddly-shit weather" we got during winter in our area (Washington DC) -- that winter, we got weekly snowstorms, real genuine blizzards, and thundersnow, so I'm definitely going to avoid that one!)

'tis lovely!

And I bet you'll like The Rose. Because it's just... so true for those dark periods, and so uplifting.

And I do recommend testing the cat song with cats in the house. :D

I was listening to Betty Boo when I read this. I am so low-brow.

*raises your brow to the height it should be, which might be near your hairline and that'd be a bit worrying and eep*

But yeh, give the Finnish and Swedish stuff a go. They are lovely. And really, Catwalk is so fantastic for freaking out cats:D. Noki goes mad when I play it!

My hairline is receding with alarming speed. On the plus side: I have all my own teeth.

I shall trust your judgement and download when I've finished listening to Betty Boo immediately.

Ooh, yay, music! I love "The Rose" -- I was taught to sing it for some function in elementary school, and I still know all the words. :) And I don't think I've ever actually listened to Siouxsie, believe it or not.

*downloads the whole enchilada*

Siouxsie is great. I'll have to upload their most B/A songs as well as the ones where Siouxsie IS Servalan.
