Johnny Depp would be a completely awesome Doctor. He has my vote now, as well.

He's the *only* Hollywood actor (well, the only American) I could see in the role. He's got the right kind of insanity. Even Ichabod Crane is a bit Doctorish in his flailiness.

Plus we know he'd do a good "I AM THE ONCOMING STORM, DO NOT FUCK WITH MEH" look, because we got plenty of those from Sweeney Todd.

I vote Gerard Butler for his Master. He can have a Beard of Evil.

You can have butch Butler, ugh. Way too hulky and hunky for the Master, IMHO. Although now that I've said that, the Moff's probably signing his contract as we speak...

I wanted Bill Nighy. But now that he's been on Who in a small part, it's less likely than it ever was. :\

I saw someone push for Miranda Richardson a while back. I think she might be able to pull it off.

I still harbor a desire for Patterson Joseph to be the Doctor every time I see him in Survivors or Neverwhere. Which I watch a lot. So. Yeah.

I think he'd be great.

a) it's Paterson.

and

b) he only ever has that one stary, slightly glassy expression. Every time I see him, I thank the stars he didn't become the next Doctor. In fact, I saw him in something the other week and went "fuck, thank god he isn't the Doctor, because he's just doing that stare again". He just constantly looks like he's looking inwards. Which isn't all that great if your job is to tell a story with your expressions. I'm sure he's a lovely guy and all, and Marquis de Carabas was fun, but... do not want. If they need to cast a black dude, I'm going for Chiwetel Ejiofor.
