All I can do, pretty much, is to post rants and things and say "fuck no" if buffshops get pushed my way. There's no point in posting feedback and saying "well, sorry, this character just isn't that buff", it seems, because people never fucking listen. Why? Because OMG THE PIC IS SO ROMANTIIIIIIIIC. Like that fucking counts if you can't believe it's the Doctor in the first place. But noo, THE SOURCE PIC IS SO KEWWWWWWWWWWT.

The best excuse for a buff pic I've ever heard was "but the model's face reminded me of character X, so I shopped it into character X". Yeah. Right. His. Face. Which you would be obscuring anyway. Yeah. Okay. Facepalm city, man, facepalm city.

All in all, it just makes me frustrated that I scrap so, so many shit pics (about 30% of my stuff is ever good enough to be posted, these days) because I think they don't work, and yet other people are just lazy and don't give a shit. But the same thing goes with unbetaed non-spellchecked OOC mush badfic (which everyone loves), too. Fuck-a-duck.

No shit-stirrin' here, plz, guys. I've made my points in the tutorials, and whether people want to listen to that or not is beyond my control. I didn't want to single out any specific manippers, because the problems I've pointed out apply to all manippers (including myself). Bitchin' about people on here isn't going to help much--I'd rather see people giving the manippers honest feedback about wonky heads, buff bodyshots and weird situations, etc. instead. Of course, the problem with feedback is that some people just don't listen or feel too protective about their artwork to take in any criticism (which is understandable to some extent), so all I can really do is to write tutorials in the hope people won't make the same mistakes over and over (again, they're mistakes I've made myself). The advantage of that is that it won't feel like an attack on a specific manip or a specific manipper (I hope), and that way people might even think about the issues I've listed rather than storm off in a huff

I'd never noticed how thin John's arms and legs are, actually - maybe because they're more proportionate to his torso length than Dave's are. It always amazes me how short DT's legs in particular are, relative to his long skinny torso.

Definitely agree that realistic body types make more attractive manips! (Wanders off to drool some more)

Yes. John's always skinnier than I remember him being (and with the Master, he carries himself with lots of poise and power and has a really good suit, so that makes him look physically more... well, imposing isn't probably the right word, but less skinny at least). And yeah, it's odd that Dave's so bloody tall but that his body's pretty proportionate, considering. A bit like Kylie's the shape of an average-height woman with surprisingly long-looking legs and thighs despite the fact that she's tiny (lucky bitch).
