Silk Garden Shawl

Oct 28, 2007 00:10

Gosh, this shawl took a long time to knit. I cast on more than a year ago, but after about two feet, it spent many months bagged up safe from all the building/plastering dust. Now, at last, it is finished.

The pattern is Knitty's Cozy and the yarn is Noro Silk Garden.

Thank you! I'm very proud of the shawl, but I've a way to go before I'm anything like the craftswoman that Judy is. She's also the one who inspired me to start knitting in the first place.

Yes, Cozy's a good pattern - the pattern repeat is short enough to remember once you get going and I'm thrilled with the end result.

I'm definitely planning on some smaller projects next!

Thanks!

I really must try patchworking too - my aunt is clearly one of the crack dealers of the crafting world.

Thank you!

Judy's been leading me down the dark path of crafting since I was tiny! Other aunts send cuddly toys for Christmas - I got fabric, stuffing and glass eyes!

These are both gorgeous! I like your idea with the noticeboard, too.

Thanks!

My original plan was just to stick pretty paper on a big corkboard to stop it looming emptily at me. I was going to pin stuff through the paper - but then I found the double-sided boards in Rymans.
