Red is sitting at the PokeCenter, his knuckles turning white from grasping his mobile phone in his hand. His face was keeping its composure for now, but he was tense - so very tense. What had Marie done? What was going on?

And right next to him sat a very, VERY anxious looking Sonny Moe. A crumpled dorito packet in one hand - empty and being squeezed repeatedly as they waited for any news of Marie being awake or even OK.

".....is it going to be like last year?" Sonny asked Red quietly, remembering that horrible couple of months that Sasha and Vinnie spent recouperating and everyone being completely miserable. Of course, he wasn't sure how much of that series of events Red even remembered, being his memory was apparently hazy. Really, all he wanted was a little assurance that things were going to be better this time. That Marie was OK, and that things were going to get back to normal quickly.

Red couldn't say anything. Not for any want of saying anything but he couldn't think of what to say. He didn't want to raise their hopes up but at the same time he was agreeing with his Pikachu - Marie was a tough little thing and he believed that he would be alright but still.

This situation was eating him from the inside out. All he could do was put a hand on Sonny's shoulder and grasp it tightly.

Slippy rarely spoke to Marie. Heck, Slippy wasn't even sure if Marie liked him at all.

They were still roommates and so when Slippy found out that Marie had been rushed to the Pokecenter, he became worried and decided to pay his acquaintance a visit.

He slowly approached Marie's bed, a get-well present in his arms. It was a tin filled with berries. Slippy didn't know what type Marie liked the most so he had gotten various kinds.

"Hey."

Honestly. Marie didn't care for Slippy. He'd much rather be rooming with someone else, someone he was more familiar with. But rooming with someone forces you to become familiar with them. Over time, Marie decided he simply didn't mind Slippy. He didn't consider him a friend, but he was alright.

However, he wasn't expecting him to show up to visit him while he was weak. With barely-opened-eyes, Marie watched Slippy slowly enter the room. He felt incredibly embarrassed to be seen looking so weak in front of someone who wasn't a teammate. He had wanted to bolt up in bed to show Slippy how fine he felt, but his ribs were sore and moving felt like such a hassle.

Instead, he opted for a weak, "Hey," in reply. He cast his eyes at the tin Slippy had brought, then back at Slippy. "Thanks."

Slippy winced. Marie looked absolutely terrible. He was ready to bombard Marie with questions about what happened and who did this to him but he held his tongue back.

"Your welcome," he replied with a friendly grin on his face to mask his concern. "I didn't know what kind of berries ya' like so I got you a whole bunch of types!"

He placed the present on the counter next to the bed and took a seat.

"So how are you doin'?"

With idle hands, Marie grabbed the tin and opened it. He picked over the berries, searching for whichever ones he preferred. Maybe his teammates would like the other ones...

"I'm fine," he replied. Technically, it wasn't a lie. He was feeling decent, and most of his injuries were healing up alright. "You didn't have to visit me, you know," he blurted out nervously after a short pause.

As soon as Bulba had called him, Raikov set out to the hospital. He was furious with what he'd been told. After constant reminding of what happened to him while Volgin was dead, that still wasn't enough...?! Oh, he was going to give Volgin a piece of his mind.

The angry Russian shoved the door open to Volgin's hospital room, (after badgering a nurse with questions and then ignoring her as she tried to stop him) eyes narrowed and teeth grit.

"YEVGENY."

A shame the angry call of his name was among one of the most wonderful things Volgin had heard. When Raikov came upon the bandaged giant (who could have been auditioning for a role as The Mummy), he was still managing to pull the irritated whorl of now torn scars on his face into one of the sunniest rictuses.

"Ivan," his voice strained, his Russian a pathetic mewl. "/Beautiful Ivan... You're alive! I thought I had killed you!/"

Despite Volgin's appreciation for seeing his lover, Raikov was not impressed.

"/What did I tell you?! WHAT. DID. I SHOW. YOU? Do those scars mean nothing to you?! I told you I wanted to live in peace! Why did you pick a fight with another Pokémon?!/"

Volgin clicked his teeth, authentic confusion crossing his expression over the welt of fear knotting up in his stomach.

"/I did what?/"

Marie - 8th, as early as possible. temporalness December 10 2011, 05:38:09 UTC
The moment she had heard the news, she rushed over. The nurses couldn't have stopped her from coming in if they had tried. No one could stop her, especially whenever she was like this.

She wasn't going to leave his little side until he had risen again. She would wait forever if she had to. His life -- his entire team's life -- they were all so precious to her. It was odd, how because of one member's influence, they had all found their way into her normally unshakable heart. It was so strange, but so good for her to feel this way. She couldn't stop their lives from moving forward or getting into situations like this, nor could she prevent anything from happening. It had to happen.

Everything has to happen.

It was out of her jurisdiction for it to not happen.

She hated it.

However, while she was waiting for him to stir, she sat in a chair beside his bed, staring out of the window. Snow was quietly falling again, and she was slowly being overcome with thoughts. Winter was such a brute to her...

Fortunately for Dana, no one tried to stop her. She was able to march right into Marie's room undisturbed by any nurse or trainer.

When she came in, however, Marie was sleeping. He had finally regained consciousness late the night before. He had woken up completely terrified, disoriented, and incredibly sore. After the excitement of being awake for an hour or so, though, Marie fell asleep.

However, after a few minutes, he opened his eyes. And he looked at Dana.

She hadn't even noticed that he had stirred from his slumber. She was too wrapped up with her own personal feelings and all of that at the moment.

Right about now, she's probably going to need a bit of a notice that he's even there in the conscious realm to be honest.

Quietly and slowly, Marie sat up slightly. He put on his strongest most confident expression and said, "Dana... Hi." Immediately, his expression dissolved into a discontented frown.

If he had it entirely his way, only his team would have visited him... Not that he didn't mind the company from his friends, but he couldn't help feeling outrageously weak. Especially in front of Dana, Marie felt self-conscious. He sighed quietly to himself and added, "...Are you okay?"

Marie, that was supposed to be someone else's line.

He was the fucking green and yellow hair. It was him.

Bulba had only stayed at the Pokemon Center the first day for a short while. He was there long enough to see Marie safely in the hands of people that knew what they were doing. Long enough to borrow the PC to find Raikov's number. Have a terse conversation with the man about the other who was hopefully already being rushed off to the hospital. No, he didn't know what happened. As far as he could tell, something had gone wrong. No, he didn't know what. End of conversation. He stayed just until Red had shown up. He left with Green. It hadn't been a long stay ( ... )

No, unfortunately he wasn't napping. Laying with his eyes closed, yes.

Someone that smelled pretty good had walked into the room. At first, Marie mistook the scent for Vinnie. It wasn't long before he realized, no. No, that was not Vinnie.

Marie opened his eyes and looked, rather annoyed, at the fucking green and yellow hair beside his bed. No go away no one wants you here and also I hate you.

That was a very annoyed looking person staring at him now. So he wasn't sleeping. That was... well that sucked. Bulba frowned a little.

"How are you doing? Glad to see you're still up for glaring, at least."

Marie frowned a lot. Particularly when Bulba decided to say something. He looked away, as if he didn't even want to acknowledge that he was there.

"Fine," Marie replied as shortly as possible.

Although he wasn't sure- the details were incredibly fuzzy- the Squirtle vaguely remembered Bulba being involved with him somehow ending up at the PokeCenter. It wasn't his fault, no. The pain he was feeling was familiar, but it wasn't the itchy gross feeling of a grass-related attack. He wondered, in the back of his mind, if Bulba had been the one who delivered him to the PokeCenter. That idea made him want to throw a giant fit, so he tried to keep it out of mind.
