"So, do you see anything out of the ordinary?" Silver asked, turning to Blaze.

"Not yet," she said. "If I didn't know any better I'd say there was nothing wrong at all."

"That's true..." Silver replied as he floated in the air with his psychokinesis. It was just like how it was when he was fighting against Iblis in the future... He should his head a bit, feeling like he was going to jinx himself if he thought about it too much.

She shook her head. "I suppose I should feel relieved, but it just puts me more on edge. Like something's going to happen any moment. I hope I'm wrong," she explained.

It could be that Rock had an appointment. It could be that he was meeting friends. It could be that he'd slipped a cog and needed to go to the nearest AutoZone to have it unslipped. Knuckles didn't want to assume anything at this point. But his suspicion was that Rock was doing the same thing he was.... looking for answers to these killings. It seemed like Rock was that sort of guy. A Hero.
After a block or two Knuckles decided to stop being a creeper make his presence known. Even if Rock DID have somewhere to be, it would be better if he walked with someone. Even though he was a Robot, he looked pretty much like a young human male and that seemed to be this predator's preferred prey.
He dropped from a nearby ledge, landing on the sidewalk a little bit down from where Rock was walking.
"Yo - You're out kinda late, buddy."

He smirked a little. "You're on patrol too, huh?"

Corpses were dumped in the woods without care.
And Knuckles the Echidna hoped for the next killing, he'd be there.
....to stop it, of course.
Terrible parodies of Christmas carols aside, Knuckles was stalking the city rooftops, glowering darkly at all the festive wreathes and hanging tinsel. So far, this Holiday season and the Last were NOT times of celebration for him and he was starting to associate the happily jingling music and multicolored lights below with violence and depravity. What was it about Peace on Earth and Goodwill toward Men that brought out the Bad in some people?
Still. He couldn't let himself get sidetracked. His ears did their best to filter out the sounds of his footfalls, the honking of horns and revving of engines, the music coming from stores and the general chatter of late-night shoppers and partygoers. He was listening for screams, for yelling, for anything that suggested he ought to be there.

Knuckles wasn't the only one in the air that night. Silver, while he had not gotten to visit Mac for any clues, was going through all the places he could think of to see if he could run into the culprit. While Blaze had taken the ground, Silver decided to take the sky. Who knows, with so many different kinds of creatures at this place, the criminal may have wings!
That was when he glimpsed a sight of someone jumping off a roof. Silver immediately changed his direction to follow after the other.
"Hey!"

Knuckles banked his body to circle back around and see who was calling him. The familiar green-blue glow was a dead giveaway and he dropped lightly to the nearest rooftop, being it was easier to talk while standing still.
He raised his glove in a wave. It looked as though Silver really WAS patrolling the city as he'd said over the network. Good.
"Yo!"

"Out on patrol as well?" He asked as he got close enough.
