First Snowflake - 2:23PM rockinthrutime December 2 2010, 19:38:05 UTC
Re: First Snowflake - 2:23PM badasscopters December 2 2010, 20:18:23 UTC
Goose was more than ready to get that snowflake.

He was going to definitely get that snowflake. He wanted that snowflake. A little Southern boy that barely ever experienced snow, if not never in his childhood, screamed from inside of his mind. "I want it, I want it! That oughta to be cool!"

The 10-year-old self in him wanted that snowflake.

He was damn well going to listen to that boyish side of him. If he didn't achieve it, well, at least it's worth a shot, right?

He was right there, and he was waiting.

((What determines who will get the first snowflake? Do we decide amongst ourselves or does a mod determine it at random or something?))

Naval had just stepped out for her lunch break. She wasn't looking forward to snow or the dead of winter, as she absolutely hated freezing, but she did have to leave campus for something to eat and she wore probably a billion layers of clothing to deal with the predicted forecast.

There was goose standing outside all excited and sparkly-eyed... She stopped near him wondering what for.

"Hey thar!"

Well, that was a familiar face, if any! Goose was definitely very sparkly-eyed right now, but snapped out of the stupor once he heard her voice. After flipping his body and head around, he caught sight of Naval and grinned. Wave-wave.

"Nav'! What're you doing out here? Looking for that snowflake, too?"

SNOOOW.

"Come on, Quagsire! The snow looks gorgeous!"

Misty adored snow. There was never a time when she wasn't excited for the first snowfall. Whenever it snowed in Cerulean, it was such a momentous occasion for her. She'd deck out in her winter clothes, including her favorite blue scarf, and then run out with her Pokemon in tow. This was no exception.

She ran out and began to spin around like a little girl over the snow. Behind her, Quagsire slid around on his belly, enjoying the fluffy ice beneath him.

Oh wow, snow! The first snowfall! This was awesome. At the sight of the snow outside his window, he hurried on outside in a winter coat to go run around. Mac was always the sort to be a child at heart, and that was no exception here. He started to jump in the snow and enjoy his time outside like the energetic guy he was.

And then he spotted a Misty and Quagsire. Run towards. Excitedly.

"Misty!!"

"Mac!!"

Well, that was a pleasant surprise. Thankfully, Misty, while much more mature than she was as a teenager, still proved to have a youthful energy. How about some GOOD, CHILDISH VIBES, Mac? They are good and childish.

"Aren't you excited? Look at all of the snow there is!"

"I know! It's awesome!" Mac responded as he ran closer...

Not before slipping on some of the snow on accident. Graceful.

In Viridian Forest, snow was always a rarity.

Amp had never even seen snow once in her life, at least not at this amount. Any snow that fell near Viridian Forest would build up either around the forest or on the treetops. Nothing further would happen. The snow wouldn't pass through and inside between the actual trees. Viridian Forest was just so thick and resilient.

Amp was absolutely amazed by the snow blanketing the ground.

She dove straight for the snow and began to build up a pile of it. Once it was a little bigger than her, she pounced straight into it.

Holy name of Ho-oh, this snow was cold. She liked that.

Somewhere on campus Samus spied a pile of snow. Moving! Oh, it had a Pikachu tail. Wasn't that adorable. Out of curiosity, the blonde decided to see if she could sneak up on the Pokemon without it noticing her.

Ampere hadn't even noticed Samus in the slightest. She was just busy rolling all around inside of the snow, caking her fur with little snow-bits. How cute.

Except for when some electricity went accidentally flying from one side of the snow, piercing through it and thankfully avoiding Samus and... anything else in the vicinity. That's what happens when she gets excited.

"Oops!" She exclaimed to no one in particular, popping out of the snow and wiggling her ears. That was a bit of an accident. Clumsy girl. She glanced around at that moment, and... oh, hey there, Samus.

"Chuuu, hi! Sorry!" WAVE-WAVE.

Samus slowly stalked closer, her footsteps barely leaving a crunch in the snow until she was very close the Pokemon. She got down on her haunches and continued to observe. She knew well that Pikachus were electrically inclined but did not expect to see sparks coming from the snow, much less end up on the receiving end of one of said sparks.

Ow.

Thankfully it was just that and nothing more and the bounty hunter shrugged off the lingering prickle in her arm. It didn't look intentional.

"Enjoying yourself?"

It had been a while since Miller had seen a snowfall. While it didn't make him feel young again (his childhood was pretty lousy), there was a certain childlike sense of wonder as he watched the tiny white flakes drift from the sky. Beautiful... Maybe one day he'd retire and move to a place with a lot of snow. It was an idea, but one he wouldn't have to worry about for a loooong time.

He stood around the entrance to the school, content to just watch for a while. At least until he got cold.

Oh fuck. It's officially Fichina season again.

Due to his natural intolerance of colder climates, Leon was pretty certain, as he is every winter, to refrain from reverting back into a lizard until Spring comes up again.

The snow was beautiful, though. It brought back memories of his childhood mission on Fichina. He had to delay the Cornerian Military's terraforming project by sabotaging the climate control center and nobody had any idea that a child tourist, supposedly on a school field trip for gifted potential researchers was ordered to, and succeeded in shutting down a whole military operation.

Of course, he had to be rushed out of there afterwards since it was intolerably cold.

Every first snowday brought this memory. Even if he froze despite wearing ungodly amounts of layers, it was a good memory.

He was by the main building just staring at the snowfall. Hit him with a snowball, and he'll pelt you back with a rock-filled one.

Oh he won't hit you with a snowball. Just a Mightyena.

Five minutes ago Archie let his Mightyena outside. It was a stupid mistake. One he'd probably make again if given the chance. He turned his back for one second (okay, it was more like a minute or two to stare at a passing blonde chick who was fine by the way) and Mightyena was gone. So after chasing down the dog, he finally found it... rubbing on your legs and demanding headpats.

"Oh c'mon! I turn around for a second an' you run off! Bad dog!" Mightyena only barked. He was about as bright as his trainer. "Ugh, sorry," Oh wait, Archie recognizes you! YOU'RE THAT GUY WHO CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIS BEARD. "Leon, right?" Yeah, he's the guy who didn't want any awesome Pokemon. "You know how Mightyenas are. ...Well, I guess you don't, actually."

Leon is convinced to be a Kecleon in denial. shut up. goaheadnblunder December 3 2010, 06:53:40 UTC
The Mightyena caught Leon by surprise and he almost pulled his leg away in response, but seconds later, his tension eased and he reached a hand down to its head.

Oh! And here came that hot bearded guy Archie fellow!

Little does this guy know that this Pokemon reminds Leon slightly of another dark type doggie on campus he on-and-off associates with.

"Yes. That's me. How's life here so far?"
