Fresh air would be nice. She had classes to plan for, and being stuck inside recently made her feel trapped. Somehow the fact she had a job at the school gave her a boost of confidence, ever after making an idiot out of herself during the last week with her drunken debauchery. She barely remembered anything from it, which didn't help.
Lash hadn't heard about the festival at all, but now that she stood outside admiring the trees, even she couldn't help but let out a small gasp of delight. It didn't take too long for the girl to find an optimal tree, and gingerly jumped up to sit on the bottom lower branches rather comfortably, a book in her hands as she wrote down notes. For some reason, being in the tree felt much more enjoyable now.
She didn't even notice he growing amount of petals that were landing in her hair.

And here was a friendly knock on the trunk of the tree Lash was perched in, and if she looked down she would see a familiar redhead grinning and waving.
With a surprising amount of dexterity and strength, Lash managed to push herself on the tree branch, so she was dangling from her legs and starring at Claus upside down. It seemed a lot easier than before. Maybe she had just gotten stronger over the past two years here. No matter.
"Hey!" She smiled, her hands still clasping the book or else she would have waved. "Didn't expect such nice weather today."
"Yeah, I guess spring really has arrived. And not a moment too soon, I was starting to get really tired of the winter weather."
He tilted his head at the book she was holding, which was awkward considering he was right side up and she was upside down. He gave up on trying to get a peek at what it was and decided to just ask.
Louie hadn't gone out for air in a while himself, having been busy himself compiling class papers, reading the latest installment of "Caterman: When Caterpies Go Insane", drawing, and obviously, cooking. He seemed to pick the perfect time to do it, right when the cherry blossoms were blooming and the festival was happening.
He stepped into the area, making sure to go straight to a vendor and receiving some onigiri with shrimp tempura. Of course, he left the area and came back after giving it his own special touch, as well.
As in, picking up a nearby grasshopper, snapping its head off, sanitizing it elsewhere, and then returning to eat it on the onigiri. Delicious.
Sable just so happened to be walking around the same area. Being outside with all of the cherry blossom trees made her feel a little nostalgic of home - back in Smashville, they would most likely be celebrating the Cherry Blossom Festival pretty soon too!
She quickly noticed Louie, eating the onigiri, but not noticing that there was some kind of bug on top of it. She hadn't seen him in a while! Maybe it would be good to catch up with him. And so, she started to approach the man, giving a quick wave in the process.
Louie, at first, didn't notice Sable, delving very much into his food. He munched, and munched, and then finally glanced up. He almost went back into his food, but only just sighted Sable approaching him.
He blinked and then gave her a wave, greeting her with a, "Hrrrrrro." Then he realized his mouth was full. Oops. He swallowed the mixture of chewed rice and grasshopper before redoing his greeting. "Oh... hello. I am sorry for that."
Mac heard there was a shindig going on with the cherry blossoms. A festival? Where you look at flowers? Hm, okay. It WAS a nice day outside, perfect to have a little picnic at least. He could just sit, enjoy the nice weather, and have some good old R&R.
So he sat under a tree with a backpack. He took out a couple of sports drinks and the weight Lash made for him. He could lift a little bit here and there so he wouldn't miss out some training entirely today. There were also a lot of ham sandwiches. A lot. Hey, sandwiches are easy to make. Even for very bad chefs like Mac. He's not gonna eat them all, no. He would be willing to share them with friends. He does love company, anyway.

Olimar took a breath of fresh air. And then coughed up blood and died due to poisoning. The temperatures had began to slowly but surely rise, which was more than beneficial to the small, Hocotatian family
( ... )
Falcon was not really one for communing with nature, but sometimes you just had to get out of the house. Little did he know he'd happen upon not only a festival, but his favorite tiny family ever. Having a picnic. A really adorable, tiny picnic.
Obviously that meant he was going to crash it.
And crash it he did, more or less waltzing up to them and taking a seat, peering inside the picnic basket to see if there were any delicious sandwiches for him. "Hello hello." He said, grinning.

Oh, look, it was his best friend barging into their picnic. Normally, this would be welcomed, by Olimar had a certain look on his face that read 'Don't eat our food!'
"Falcon, hello!" The wife cheerfully greeted him, not minding the company that much. Well, it wouldn't be too good of he began to eat out of their tiny little picnic basket but the Mrs. was all for being hospitable. She smiled. "Came to see the festival too?"
Nearly right away, the two children's faces beamed. "HII!" Falcon was only the best babysitter/"uncle" ever. On those nights Olimar and his wife were out, it was always watching movies or staying up extra late. Or both.
"Papa didn't tell me you were going to be here!" As much as Olimar's son looked up to him, the larger captain was an F-Zero racer and generally cool guy. Not that Olimar wasn't cool. Okay. Maybe he was a little these days.
Suuuuurely there was an extra sandwich in there. And suuuuuurely the missus wouldn't mind. Not when he was already playing around with the kids. He'd only just said hello and already piggyback rides were most certainly imminent. Falcon didn't mind. There was a part of him that maybe secretly liked kids, and Ollie's were no exception.
"I was just taking a walk, kiddo." He said, reaching out and mussing Ollie's son's hair. "It's nice out, so I thought I'd get some fresh air."
Blacky didn't choose to go out until later in the evening, which wasn't unusual at all. So many cherry trees in the city... and she never saw a single one of them bear fruit. True, the blossoms were a much preferable sight, but they weren't Blacky's favourite part of spring.
So she wandered down to the lakeside, where she knew that hidden amongst the flurries of pink petals there was a single tree that bore not flowers, but tiny fuzzy buds. There were a nice size; maybe she'd pick a few to put in a small vase in her room.
The sudden voice startled Blacky so much she nearly dropped the twigs she'd been collecting. Blasted overpowering springtime scents...! Otherwise she should have smelled him coming!
Still, she turned around with a slightly bewildered smile on her face. "I'm gathering a few things to decorate my room and office with." She held the pussywillow twigs out for him to see. "They aren't quite flowers, I suppose, but I simply adore these."
