Who: You! What: Cherry Blossom Festival When: March 27-28th. Where: All over town. Wherever you find a cherry tree. Rating: Who knows how across the board this'll be <8|
Louie hadn't gone out for air in a while himself, having been busy himself compiling class papers, reading the latest installment of "Caterman: When Caterpies Go Insane", drawing, and obviously, cooking. He seemed to pick the perfect time to do it, right when the cherry blossoms were blooming and the festival was happening.
He stepped into the area, making sure to go straight to a vendor and receiving some onigiri with shrimp tempura. Of course, he left the area and came back after giving it his own special touch, as well.
As in, picking up a nearby grasshopper, snapping its head off, sanitizing it elsewhere, and then returning to eat it on the onigiri. Delicious.
Sable just so happened to be walking around the same area. Being outside with all of the cherry blossom trees made her feel a little nostalgic of home - back in Smashville, they would most likely be celebrating the Cherry Blossom Festival pretty soon too!
She quickly noticed Louie, eating the onigiri, but not noticing that there was some kind of bug on top of it. She hadn't seen him in a while! Maybe it would be good to catch up with him. And so, she started to approach the man, giving a quick wave in the process.
Louie, at first, didn't notice Sable, delving very much into his food. He munched, and munched, and then finally glanced up. He almost went back into his food, but only just sighted Sable approaching him.
He blinked and then gave her a wave, greeting her with a, "Hrrrrrro." Then he realized his mouth was full. Oops. He swallowed the mixture of chewed rice and grasshopper before redoing his greeting. "Oh... hello. I am sorry for that."
Louie looked down to his onigiri and then back up to Sable, thinking of a good response. "Oh... I have been alright. I've unfortunately not been around the school as much," He spoke in dismay, mostly having hung around for important reasons. He had other things he had been doing, anywho.
"I've been good as well." Sable started rubbing an arm with her hand- she was still just a little bit nervous talking. "Hee...though, nothing huge has been going on for me. It's just been the same old same old...at least it's better than a lot of chaotic things happening!"
Louie frowned a little and nodded with a shudder. That Driver's Ed class as of recently... That was insane. "Ah... perhaps you have seen the Driver's Ed class? They, ah, they had unicorns. It was chaotic, yes."
Wait, what? Unicorns? ...did she hear that right? "I do know that Driver's Ed can be very...wild, but I had no idea that there were unicorns in that class!" Although, to be honest, she also thought that those kind of animals didn't actually exist. Huh. You learn something new everyday! "How can unicorns be wild and crazy? I always expect them to be more majestic and humble more than anything."
"These... were very fast and very strong," Louie had to admit, leaning back and furrowing his brow. Seriously, he enjoyed Goroh's teachings and his company when he was a little more mellow, but when he taught and even on a regular basis sometimes, he could be pretty deranged. "I was surprised that there were no injuries... that I knew of. I am glad you did not go."
"Oh my...well, that's good that nobody got hurt!" asked an astonished Sable. "Ohhh, I can't imagine riding on something fast like that! That's not usually my idea of fun. I would much rather stand in the sidelines, thank you very much.
"I was wishing to stand by, yet... I had no choice," Louie frowned. That seemed to happen every time he went to Driver's Ed, even just to watch. Then why did he keep going? Nobody, not even he, knows.
"Ah... I was fine," He nodded. "But I had been made dizzy for a while." It was very unpleasant, needless to say.
"Ohh, I see," Sable replied softly. She felt a little bit lucky for not being able to go to that class. But she totally would have gone if her mun wasn't on hiatus at the time.
She closed her eyes and felt the breeze. She really missed the springtime. "These past few days have been lovely, don't you think?" she asked, sighing with content.
Louie felt a little more lax with the subject being dropped, and he leaned back against the bark of the tree. He took another bite of his almost-forgotten onigiri, and replied.
"They have been. Spring is... one of my favorite seasons. It is relaxing, the right temperature, and the perfect bugs surface for cooking."
Sable couldn't help but agree. "It's mine, too. It just feels so great to be outside, especially after all that snow!"
She paused.
"...did you say that the perfect bugs come out for...cooking?" she asked out of curiousity. She hadn't heard of anyone that cooked bugs before. Honestly, the concept to her sounded a little farfetched, but it also sounded very unique!
Louie nodded and motioned to his onigiri, half-finished and full of little grasshopper-y bits. "Ah, yes. I always cook bugs. They are not common in dishes, but... they are still delicious."
He then took one of the untouched grasshopper pieces and held it up, as if seeing if she wanted to try it.
Sable wasn't exactly gung ho about eating bugs in the first place. The only memories that she had that had to do with bugs was looking at all of the different colored butterflies in the spring and watching the night sky fill up with fireflies in the summer. That, coupled with sometimes watching a couple of the human villagers catch different kinds of bugs to turn them into the museum. She couldn't imagine eating any of those bugs!
So, she was slightly taken aback when Louie offered her the grasshopper. She still didn't want to hurt his feelings, so she politely responded, "O-Oh, that's okay! I'll take your word for it."
