"Yup," Jake replied. He seemed oddly comfortable with this. He just kept walking, though, and looked back at Hawke. "You coming?"

Hawke hesitated, knowing that this was probably his only chance to escape. He didn't particularly want to follow Jake and see what kind of special purchase he needed to make, but then a second thought crossed his mind.

The more time he spent with Jake, the higher his chances of scoring Orange Star intel became. On top of that, Lash had been acting very strangely lately, and perhaps this particular CO knew something about it.

He shrugged and followed along.

Jake just kept walking, a stupid smile on his face. He didn't seem bothered by anything that was going on, even with Hawke now accompanying him to the mall. Nothing could get him down.

At least not until a team of typical thugs, mohawks, ripped clothes and nose rings aplenty, started to follow them.
