Hawke was confused.
First Lash had started behaving more like her old self. That wasn't the problem He knew how to deal with old Lash, and news on the robot's completion and plans to infiltrate Orange Star made him feel more accomplished than he had in a long time. Even if they weren't necessarily going to invade anytime soon, Black Hole's documents did not belong to Hachi and Nell, and Hawke was perhaps getting his hopes up that Lash agreed with him, even after all the brainwashing they'd done.
But then came St. Patrick's Day, and Hawke was confused all over again. Not just because of her drunken antics, but because he'd never actually entertained the possibility that the younger CO might harbor some sort of affection for him. Hawke was born and raised to be an emotionless killing machine. He just didn't think about these things.
Now, however, it was bothering him to no end. And the fact that he was bothered bothered him. Too proud to ask anyone for advice and not sure how to confront her about her behavior, Hawke was left with little else to do but mull over the situation.
Perhaps a walk downtown would clear his head.
