Something special. Hm.

It wasn't really any of Hawke's business, but the cryptic fashion in which Jake vocalized his downtown intentions perhaps piqued his interests ever-so-slightly. Still, he was mostly sure that something special would turn out to be rather mundane.

"And you weren't following me?"

"Why would I want to follow you?" Jake asked. "I've just gotta get to the mall. It's important, y'know? You're welcome to come with if ya want."

Oh. Something important at the mall. The unintentional follwing thing, however, was kind of really weird and made Hawke just the tiniest bit uncomfortable. And it looked like they were heading in the same direction, especially because the mall, of course, housed quite a few coffee shops.

"What are you looking for, if I might ask?"

"It's somethin' for me an Rachel to enjoy together," Jake said. "You'll see!"

Hawke made it a point to not really think about intimate relationships, but his mind really couldn't help but go there. Really couldn't help it. Which only made him more uncomfortable.

"I'll...see?"
