Oh, where there was ice, there was NESTER. Ice-skating just felt like one of those really awesome old-school things like roller-blading and... Ye Olde Video Gaming. Aw hell yeah, bra. Thus, he just had to do it.
Stepping out there, he decided that he was too damn cool for ice skates, and that he'd just do it with his shoes. He then stepped out onto the snow beside the ice and screamed out, "HEY FINAL DESTINATION CITY. Watch as I draw a PES CONTROLLER in the ice with my shoes!" He rubbed his hands together and WENT TO WORK.
... if stepping onto the ice and falling flat on his face counted as work.
Thus, he groaned and got on his rear, and tried to push himself to shore with his hands... but failed and moved in the opposite direction.
Lighter watched the spectacle, taking comfort in the fact that he wasn't the worst skater after all. He slowly pushed himself to his feet... which slid out from beneath him and he simply fell again.
All Nester could do was raise an eyebrow and look out at the man trying his damndest to get back onto his feet and... failing. He skidded up to him with his gloved, yet freezing cold hands, and blinked. "... wow. At least I have my way of moving, old man!"
Old man? OUCH. Kids today showed no respect. Lighter huffed and put his attempts on hold, trying to look at least somewhat dignified. "Last I heard, you're supposed to skate on your feet, not your behind. Least I'm tryin' to get back on my feet!"
He made another, more careful attempt to steady himself. Okay... good... good. He was standing. But he didn't dare move.
Smeargle was just making a quick run around for no reason, she was totally going to go back in and grab her supplies, when she didn't notice the sudden change from snow/ground to..ice?
Oh geeze, that was not good at all. She quickly lost her balance and began to slide around, whining loudly. "AHHH, what is with thiiiiiiis?!"
There was nothing Weavile loved more than winter. Watching the snow fall, feeling the winter breeze rush past, and most of all, ice skating. Growing up in frigid climates, there wasn't much else to do to amuse himself than ice skating on frozen bodies of water. Without even noticing, he became almost expert in it.
He had never tried ice skating in his human form before. But he preferred to stick with what he knew. So in his smaller Pokemon form, he glided about the ice like he owned it. Feeling a little playful, he pulled a Crossfoot Spin and then a Sit Spin or two.
Even though Weavile was a feline, he was also a dark Pokemon. One with an interest in psychology, at that! Blacky decided that a mere allergy was no reason the two couldn't speak and find even more common ground.
...besides, in her current state (which was covered in fur and therefore so much warmer), fellow Pokemon were probably the only ones she could hold a proper conversation with.
Blacky placed one paw tentatively on the edge ice, and when she decided it was safe to walk on without making a fool of herself, she slowly trotted out onto the lake. She shot Weavile a grin as he passed by. "Goodness, aren't you the talented one."
There was one more Pokemon present that day, though he definitely lacked the warm fur of the two dark-types. The wind had a way of cutting right through his feathers and seeping into his bones, but Xatu had resolved not to spend the entire winter in his human form; a little cold would help keep him sharp. Besides, it was better to venture onto the ice as something that weighed 30 pounds than something that weighed 160.
"I agree. You're quite impressive to watch, Mr. Weavile," Xatu called out from the side of the bank. Carefully, he took his first few steps onto the ice, heading over to join Miss Blacky. To his credit, he made it 3/4 of the way before he slipped and landed on his back... with a completely unchanged expression. "I, on the other hand, would be better off sticking to teleporting."
"I grew up in a frozen wasteland. There was hardly much else to do with my free time." Sighing, he replied, "It's been far too long since I've last been ice skating. I'm afraid I've become a tad rusty."
But far be it for him to disappoint his audience of two. Making a few rounds to pick up speed, Weavile managed to perform a triple axel. It had a somewhat wobbly landing, but at least he didn't wipe-out.
"I'm sure both of you would become quite skilled given time to practice."
Chuckling quietly, Lopunny sat at the edge of the lake, tying on a pair of ice skates. "Ahh, how fun!" he chuckled, making sure they were safely on.
After he made sure, on his tiny feet, he raced out to the ice, being suuuch a show off, doing twists and turns and jumps and all of the good stuff. Reminded him a bit of the old days of Gym with Waluigi.
Ice wasn't foreign to Hooktail, but it wasn't familiar either. The thought of slipping, tripping and sliding on a sheet of ice like a newborn giraffe didn't appeal to her all that much, but like hell she would let something like ice be a hinderance to her. Like so many other obstacles faced in the past, she felt the need to conquer it.
As carefully as possible, she took a few cautious steps out onto the frozen lake, her tiny wings stretched out past her shoulders to provide a little extra balance. After a bit more practice, she cautiously strolled along the edge of the lake.
All of a sudden, sliding past, was the tiny beagle. Yelping a cry quickly as she slid by, she was becoming a tad freaked out by all the sudden moving..couldn't blame her though, to be honest.
Hooktail stared at the distressed pokemon as she slid by for a moment before quickly giving chase. Running was a lot more difficult than she anticipated, and she quickly lost her balance and tumbled forward. She used this as an oppertunity to gallop on all fours like she would in her natural form, and finally grab the beagle by her tail and halt the involuntary sliding.
"You 'kay?" She grunted, lifting Smeargle up by her tail to her eye level.
Of course now she was..upside down, aaand still a tad shaken from sliding around. She looked up (or down..whatever xD; ) to Hooktail and smiled halfway, "I..am now...erm, I think."

Did he mention how much he loved winter?
