They arrive through the wormhole one by one, and once the last is through the big 'puddle of water' flashes and with a loud whrishing noise closes off.

"When we stop being in contact, you'll know that we found something interesting."
Based off his experience, things that are interesting and found in the course of exploring are either unfriendly, carnivorus, or both.
He looks around to make sure everyone who's in the group is ready, then begins head out. "Try not to shoot at anything until you've figured out what it is, if you can. Sheppard nods at Sarah's response, still keeping his flashlight moving-and still failing to turn anything up. "Anything interesting, which pretty much means anything that's friendly, or anything that wants to kill and-or eat us." He pauses for a moment. "The second version is a lot more common."
The comment on the stars gets a shrug. "We're not at the end of the universe any more. The stars in Pegasus are different, too."

He shrugs. "After a few hundred years you just forget if its 209 or 219 or was it 309. It's very easy to lose track. Especially since I spent several hundred years fighing against the Adversary. It's hard to keep track of time there. You've got more important things on your mind."
Keep in radio contact."

"Uh. What was that?"

She cautiously steps forward, blinking.
"Anyone else notice anything?"
