They arrive through the wormhole one by one, and once the last is through the big 'puddle of water' flashes and with a loud whrishing noise closes off.

"Sheppard, you probably should go ahead and take your team out. We seem to have things under control here.

Keep in radio contact."

"When we stop being in contact, you'll know that we found something interesting."

Based off his experience, things that are interesting and found in the course of exploring are either unfriendly, carnivorus, or both.

He looks around to make sure everyone who's in the group is ready, then begins head out. "Try not to shoot at anything until you've figured out what it is, if you can. And keep the flashlights handy." He's already got his sweeping through the darkness, although there's not much of interest to illuminate here.

Corran nods in acknowledgement and follows, 'sabre still lit and at the ready.

"What, exactly, are we looking for?"

"Anything and everything of interest, no doubt," Sara observes wryly.

She glances up at the sky. "The stars are different."

Sheppard nods at Sarah's response, still keeping his flashlight moving-and still failing to turn anything up. "Anything interesting, which pretty much means anything that's friendly, or anything that wants to kill and-or eat us." He pauses for a moment. "The second version is a lot more common."

The comment on the stars gets a shrug. "We're not at the end of the universe any more. The stars in Pegasus are different, too."

"Unfamilar stars will make navigation more difficult."

Piper raises an eyebrow.

"Not like I could navigate by any set of stars anyway."

"It's a very useful skill. It's one of the first things they taught us when I trained to fight against the Adversary. That way if we got seperated from the rest of the group we could find out way back to camp."

"Uhhuh.

And how old are you?"

"I've lost track, honestly."

"That's pretty old," Paige replies with a small smirk.

"How can you lose track??"

He shrugs.
"After a few hundred years you just forget if its 209 or 219 or was it 309. It's very easy to lose track. Especially since I spent several hundred years fighing against the Adversary. It's hard to keep track of time there. You've got more important things on your mind."

There's rustling in the trees.

"Uh. What was that?"

Sara stops, shining her light up. "Unknown--it looks..."

She cautiously steps forward, blinking.

"Anyone else notice anything?"
